Help a fellow Traveller

As far as I know, the only specialist worth keeping was the exocraft guy. He gave out missions for units I think. Other than that, I think they repeat the same lines from there on.

In my experience, I never find travellers when I’m looking for them. Go have fun and they’ll show up eventually  I would also suggest, given your frustration level, you consider some of the tricks to get more than one glyph from a traveller

Travellers are usually found on Space Stations or Trading Outposts. Maybe not focus too much on finding one and do something else while keeping an eye out. Once you do find one, you might want to repeat the same traveller instead of finding new ones. There are a few topics on this subject:

As for the Specialist Terminals, once you have finished all their quests, you can remove them if you wish. If you rebuilt one, it will be back with the guy you hired. HG may of course decide to add additional missions for them in future updates, so rebuilding may be needed if that is the case.

Thanks Crew, I’ll go make some glass and then get back to exploring.

Might get a hopper to travel with.

Anyone else take one of these with them?

Stop searching.
Just wander about exploring. When done, move on.
At each location have a quick look then move on.
I got an impression that when I did LOTS of walking, scanning and varied other things in the game, it would eventially just cough up a traveller unexpectedly.

IF by chance you get one in a space station, try this trick…
EDIT: SEE FOLLOWING POSTS AFTER MINE FOR BETTER TRICK…
Chat to traveller. Continue conversation until you “ask where they came from”. Pay 100 nanites.
Go to grave & get glyph. Go back to space station & teleport home. Immediately teleport back and repeat process. Youll get the next glyph. Keep doing this to 15. I did this very recently.
You need tons of nanites and there is no point using the trick to get 16 because it wont work, youll waste your nanites.

Nanites trick.
Find a spot to annoy sentinels or a hostile planet. Shoot sentinels in the face & take booty. If all you get is nutrino modules, relocate slightly. Sentinels seem to have one or the other and will routinely appear from out of your vision. Once you find a pose where you keep getting sentinels with nanites just stay put and keep harvesting.
I found moving back and forth a short distance would keep triggering the same sentinel each time I turned back.
Need lots of gun fuel and have your ship handy to hide in. Hope this made sense.

I’ve ditched all my technitions. Once they are finished giving over goodies, they are just in the way.
You can always add a few cuboid rooms down the track if needed.

By hopper do you mean the hovering Nomad?
It’s the best all terrain unit. (Goes on water and gets out of holes easier)
Keep a dynamic resonator, 2 voltaic cells and 200 Heridium on you all the time so you can just have it when you want it. Essential for portal visits. I have a ship dedicated to just that, full of those materials.

An even easier way is to place a beacon at the glyph. Port out, port back, grab glyph, repeat. Only the initial 100 nanites required (plus the beacon).

I got all 16 when I tried. Is the last glyph still bugged?

Yes, 16 is a blank glyph. (Well mine was)
My next traveller showed up a couple of warps later and I got #16.
Your method is better. No spending nanites. Makes sense with the reload being the trick to resetting the glyph. Wish I’d realised that. The coversation repeats so I just thought you had to do the whole process.

Well, not all tricks work all the time. I set up a base right next to a traveller thinking I could get all the glyphs from him. I guess something about being on my home planet prevented him from resetting, so he only ever offered once. Then one day he was gone.

You let him go?
WOW.

@Mad-Hatter Yes I have this issue and it is very frustrating. My issue differs in some way tough, once a comm station not only disappeared, it teleported itself on top of its original position and now I can’t delete it or interact with it at all.

Yes we have Sonos speakers here and we listen to station all over the world and out of this world.

Those two stations my daughter listen to from the Internet.

I’ll take a few pictures of the stations I listen to and share them with you.

Mad-Hatter are you able to build something up to it , like a hill or building?

What about deleting it?

I would make a new comm and wait for the game to delete the old one.
I believe there can only be one per player per planet so it should disappear after a while if you build a new one. Worth a try…

I tried this but instead of disappearing the comm just deletes the new one… I kind of don’t know how to fix it,

@OldGrey no i can’t interact with it at all, e.g. Selecting it for delete

Oh, that is a bugger, well I hope it gets fixed before you gooooo nuts.

Nothing worse then have a wayward ball hanging around and you can’t touch it.

Really? I accidentally left 2 at toddumptious’ place and they were both still there when I went back. I guess I’ll check again.

Not really needing help but looking for verification. I know there was discussion about possible lightning during storms. I am currently on a planet with toxic rain. Not only did I see lots of flashes but several times I hear rolling thunder. It was awesome. Wish I had a recording of it. Has anyone else experienced this? As the rain let up, the flashes and the thunder stopped.

Ok here is another question for the great crew .

Have been changing over my hydroponic tub to bio-domes. Over refilling the buggers.

Now as I’m replanting my stuff I keep getting " limit reached. Talk about pissing me off.

My question is do plants planted outside of the buildings " the native planet plants " do they count towards to limit count, my thinking is if not using building space they should not count.

If I’m right I can free up some space for other plants and plant outside more. ( See picture of of what I mean. )

Thanks in advance Crew.

@OldGrey
Don’t quote me but…
I think each item in a base building area uses a certain amount of ‘points’. Each plant is less points than a complex structure part but still amounts to something.
Its a careful mix of what you need vs what you want.
Eg:
In one of my bases I hit the limit at about 70 plants outside and had to go and remove decals and windows to allow me to add the few extra plants needed outside to get the correct number for even harvests.
I now underbuild my bases to allow for expansion and changes.
This base was max capacity due to tons of glass and a heap of plants for circuit boards.
