Important ! Malware awareness!
Always beware of malware! In today’s age, there is an ever increasing risk of getting infected by something malicious. You may not even notice past the initial warnings/signs. You do not wish to tempt faith.
If a download comes up with warnings, you should more than likely not trust it. If a download shows warnings when trying to run, install, or even extract it, do not proceed unless you absolutely know it is fine.
Do not automatically trust any website you visit, and even more so, be extra careful whenever you download a mod or tool from a place you are not familiar with. Make sure you know the download is safe. If you are unsure, then make sure to be sure, and do not hesitate to ASK AROUND first!
Example
“Hey, a cool and pretty decent looking new website for the save editor! I did not know, top search result even, it has tons of info, and includes all the official links, so this download button should be just fine, right?!”
**WRONG!** The above is pretty much what happened to quite a few recently. Even came up top search result. Next you know, you install to get loads of accounts hijacked, info stolen, and no virus/malware tool able to remove it again, let alone undo whatever it started doing. It will continue to do its thing, until you completely wipe your hardware as the only true solution you are left with.

Nexus Mods - No Man’s Sky
This is pretty much the ONLY place to get your various mods from, unless otherwise specified by the actual mod developer.
GitHub is usually perfectly fine as well. It would have prevented many a headache with the example above.

This should be the main modding wiki for No Man’s Sky. I am not sure how well maintained it currently is, but it will at least have useful info for older versions of NMS.
