Oh, so that’s what happened to it! :microscope:

Nice! It was very unclear why I could not interact with many blocks.

Yup, experienced that one, too, so that was not on purpose.

How about freighters, is it meant to be impossible to walk further than the Bridge and hangar as a guest on a freighter?

Did anyone have an issue switching between 1st and 3rd person while piloting a corvette? My camera was inside a wall or ceiling.

I had an odd camera issue where I was either obsured 1st person view or a mile above my Corvette.

Was quite the challenge piloting from that distance to park on my freighter. A quick ship shuffle sorted it.

In truth I’ve barely had much more than about 20 minutes to peek at this update. I’m looking forward to exploring these new additions at a leasurely pace.

I should send a second ZenDesk ticket to match the one yesterday – I don’t see this in the notes, but I was vexed for two hours by a distress signal marker everywhere I went on the new map yesterday – excepting there was no actual distress signal, nothing to interact with. It didn’t cease until I hopped somewhere and just happened to find a random distress signal without a marker which I could interact with (it behaved like a regular first crash site signal) to make all other instances vanish.

[Oh, and the 6-year-old distress signal in my old Euclid portal system? It’s still there.]

I may have another bug that I haven’t seen discussed yet here.

My “equipped” pets stats and skills were nerfed for Xeno Arena. They changed to “Physical” type and their skills seems like a level 1 version even though they were maxed out with a few skills up-traded. The pets in storage were not affected.

Are steam experimental branches regional roll-outs?, seems to be taking a while.

Over an hour now, maybe they pulled it to make a few adjustments.

@m0lz When you check the executable, what version is showing?

Woah, same as yours. It must have slipped in without me noticing. Which is weird the first 7.01 experimental asked me to click update in the steam app, whereas this one for 7.02 hasn’t.

I’m fairly new to being on Steam (recently changed from GOG), so its probably me not being used to steam apps quirks.

Allrighty then, time for me to temporarily go back to Sudzerbal Galaxy and grab my (old) systems Space station

How it treats updates is also somewhat depending on your settings, which you can access through the desktop client > library > NMS > Properties

This patch did not download for me until I tried to start the game. It wasn’t in the downloads list either. Unless they released it just as I started my game

I don’t have the fix but the problem that I bet it fixes is walking on tilted floor parts while on a planet. As it is, if I step onto a ramp at my base the character snaps to the angle of the floor. It is like stumbling on each joint and when you look sideways the world is tilted. That would be expected in space without gravity, but it is weird and jarring while on the planet. Even in space I hope they smooth the transition a bit.

Hmmmm… Sounds like the gravity in our corvettes, which are bases, got applied to ground bases. Weird

About the gravity on the planets following the buildings, I took a few fun pictures.

After the 7.01 update most of the time going from ‘normal’ to tilted was smoothed out. One strange thing is that I found a buried floor panel while walking around because the gravity tilted.

More fun is walking on my cargo ship near a geo-bay (I think that is what is causing it but I’m not actually over it). It feels like the ocean is throwing the boat around.

As you walk (in first person) the world seems to rock.

The last picture is just a view off the starboard side that I liked. I haven’t visited the boat for a few updates, the graphics look even better now.

I’ll have to see if 7.02 changes any of this.
