V1.38 Bug reporting

Did you select the little paw icon above the creature data? Took me a while to notice that.

 thank you. I don’t understand why the rest of the milestones are granted automatically but this one requires another step. I don’t think it was like that pre 1.3.

You had to press a special button, too. But it was more obvious .

I’ve reported this: I’ve noticed on new worlds I visit the lack of buildings. Trading station I find but take 30 mins or more to play too. I use the device to find things, base, monoliths 20 mins or more away. Has anyone else ran into this issue? This has been noticeable since the update.

On PC, rotation of building parts does not always work, like with the Curved Cuboid Wall, the Storage Container and most other parts. The only way to make it work is by endlessly looking away, making it snap to other pieces while smashing that R button, until it’s finally oriented correctly.

Other building parts do not ever rotate at all, even though shown as an option, and require the player to orient in a certain direction instead, which makes correct placement really hard and sometimes impossible. Examples for this are the different Geobays, Infrastructure, Lights and some others.

On a side note, I have no clue why it always shows the ā€˜middle mouse button’ when having R pressed, as it most of the times does nothing when either scrolling or pressing it. Only specific objects allow precise rotation with middle mouse wheel with R pressed. In my opinion, only actual available options should show.

This is also the case on PS4

I’m finding the same during low flight - I’m half expecting to find a trader with an scanner upgrade blueprint because when I scan on foot I’m practically tripping over buildings and bases.

It’s just random. I had planets were I can see 2 other waypoints while I’m at one and I have planets with no buildings at all.

Before people complaint it didn’t feel like exploring when there is a building every 5min.

PC-Steam 1.32 and 1.33 (pre-1.3 normal mode save)

  1. I have been having issues with re-doing the base quests: Farmer got stuck on ā€œleave him aloneā€, upgraded to 1.32 and was overjoyed to find that he moved on until I planted Gravitino Hosts for him and now he only wants to wax eloquent about the relationship between that plant and the sentinels. The quest does not get ticked in the Log no matter how many times I build, plant, pour resources into the tray, babysit the plants for AN HOUR! (or drive off scouring the planet for Thamium9 because I’ve used up over 2.5K worth and have none left for my exosuit. LOL), harvest, tear down and start it again, take his Ag unit away and bring him back, take it down and port to the Station and back and rebuild him… etc. I check the mission constantly to see if it is selected: it always is.

When I take the Ag unit down and put it back he starts the whole Gravitino Host quest all over again from the start. I now have 25 gravitino balls that do not further his quest. So stuck again and gone to play on Creative mode.

  1. In my Creative mode that I started over in 1.3 ( but of course is also now 1.33), I came across a crashed freighter, used my TM to dig it out but though there are about ten or more gear icons when I scan (which disappear in two seconds) I have only been able to find the same four objects over and over again because the icons (like the ā€œ?ā€ bug) do not go away after looting them. Disappointed and frustrated, I gave up on it. It was only giving Units anyway.

Writing up a bug report for this now, but wondering if anyone else has these issues.

Have you gone through that amount of Thamium 9 solely on re-fuelling the planters? If so, going for Carbon or Plutonium is a good idea as being so much more abundant (also not forgetting ocean beds, carbon and iron also easily found there too) since for the planters any isotope will do, unlike for your suit where you really do need the Thamium 9 if you have no power cells…the other option of course being the bio-domes not needing fuel. On the timing though some are a really long wait for harvest aren’t they (Echinocactus I’m looking at you) but Frostwort plants I find quite the opposite where I generally get four harvests before the planters need refuelling :rosette:

Edit: Power GEL, even…

Sorry that wasn’t clear. But no, The Thamium was used up in recreating the plants over and over again, and not getting back the resources, after so many retries to please the unpleasable farmer.

Yes, and as for the time they take to grow, one could normally leave them and go do other things, but every time I left/ported to station/went about other business, planters would lose all nutrients, even just doing a save and going back to the plants immediately, they needed to be re-nutriented (not a word --lol).

Oh I see, with you now. On the planters, that doesn’t sound right so might be worth reporting. It’s certainly not happening to me, my planters holding up really well while I head out on other business and return a few times over before they need more fuel. I check them each time I get back and they do seem to drop at a consistent rate. I read of this being the case with someone else a while ago but before my base staff missions were again possible so I’d assumed it was a post 1.3 thing but since patched but now, maybe I was wrong…but I think I’m correct in remembering it to be @zsigmond this was happening to though I’ll have to go back and check posts to see if I’m right on that. It would be good to know if it got resolved for anyone else wouldn’t it…

…and on any word that’s not a word, just get at least three other folk to use it in context and then it is and you become the inventor, haha (hmm…must now log back in to get my planters re-nutriented!)

Hahah! Two to go, then! <3

Poor unfortunate gamer… I empathise, though it never occurs to me.

It’s the first time it happened to me, luckily it saves the moment you jump out of your ship :stuck_out_tongue:

Ow! Better luck soon I hope.

Well it is not really a bug, more an artistic choice here… but i find really ā€œaggressiveā€ the new blur effect when talking to npcs… This idea is pretty cool, but sometimes the limit between neat/blur is just too sharp to prevent you from thinking :ā€œit was better beforeā€.
