I got the word out and have teams of people on the case
But how would they know how to contact me. The app I put on my phone isn’t linked to my email the Old Gods have. Even my phone isn’t linked to that email. So I’m not sure how they would know it was me lol…
I think they are just collecting data and they will send ALL citizen scientists the next email when they are ready.
It remembers me the “Calibrations” phases. They needed people from around the world, it’ s the same right now but without a map.
Perhaps they will. I don’t pretend to know how it’s done. All I can say is that;
-
A & S have said “When the message “Device successfully synced” appears onscreen and the red dot is blinking, you have completed your task. We will contact you with further instructions.”
-
A & S have done this before. Following the calibration exercise, people who participated were issued with a special code. Only the people who participated got one. The code allowed you to take part in further tasks.
I don’t absolutely know this is what’s going to happen. Only that it’s happened before.
Therefore, to avoid possible disappointment, all members should make sure that they make at least one data submission. That way, you’ve covered all the bases.
We aren’t sure if they know or not, but to my knowledge, an email can be set up to track you if your interested in the email by coding each individual button(or clickable URL) in each email to send a sort of unique ID to know that you clicked on it. As far as i know, there are various ways to do this. Cookies is another way. They can know that you accesses the WT terminal and its other sites. Also, the surveys we did also included our emails. All this data can be stored to create a profile for you. Its a valuable tool but also a bit intrusive, thus, as many of us have probably noticed by now, many of us got emails about “privacy policy” changes from multiple companies because of stored data like this.(amongst other things)
Either way, we shouldn’t overthink this part. Submit the calibration and wait for the next part to come.
The satellite passes me in two hours and I’m super excited, think this is the first chance I’ve had this phase of the ARG to provide some data to oldgods and the folk at Atlas have an alarm set and will be ready to sync soon as it gets close.
Thanks @Finnerty and @LilLadyD76 for the help with tracking the satellite
what’s the best signal we can get/ or that anyone got so far?
I synchronized my own earlier, it was just spoting switzerland and I got a 0.909, is that ok??
Can anyone confirm for me that it’s passing the UK in about 6 mins please?
Your welcome @toddumptious I love that Heavens Above app. It lists pass times for just about every satellite, rocket booster, Imodium flares, constellations, stars, planets, and the ISS. Separate search for visible pass times, and if you want to know you are looking at, a pointer to tell you what it is.
It is over the north pole, headed toward Europe.
I got 0.981 is that good? Lol
That is excellent IMO.
@Jupiter.blues has posted a 1.03. I think that’s the best I’ve seen.
Maybe they will have a live-drop group event coming up this weekend then.
I’ll be looking up with you on June 2nd! I’m in Jacksonville myself. Hell even if this phase of the ARG is over with I’m still going to try and see it just for the hell of it lol. Hopefully this rain is gone by then so we get some clear skies.
@toddumptious HaHa! You’re welcome. I’m glad you were able to figure it out. We set an alarm last night for it, too. Seriously, that thing is haulin’ butt from what I’ve learned.
This is a good strength, right?
I think this phase is only intended for whoever is running the ARG to understand how many active participants there are and where. I think the most important thing here is not to use cheats to get better results.
How do you track it if your only on phone because using the url in the chrome browser or any other browser won’t load it even if you pick desktop mode , I have the uplink app but tracking where the thing is has been a problem for me.
This should take you to it and should work on your phone
Yeah that works thanks:)
