Unfortunately, my ISP provider assigns me a new login every time I turn on my computer/reset the modem. This means my location can be between San Diego and Los Angeles, depending on what route AT&T decides to take that moment.
I think it is more like each app has an embedded code…gathered from information about your system. Take a look at this site named WhatsMyIP. It shows the information that appears to websites to identify you. More Info About You / WhatsMyIP.org
It continued to increase and the red dot seemed to start lagging. After a few minutes I tried to press send result, but it automatically refreshed the page the second I hit… I hope it worked.
If you got the email from Old Gods, the link to the uplink page is actually a link to the mailing list server with a tracking id containing your CSD ID. If you use that link to go to the uplink page then they will know that it is you. I’m not sure that it works the same on the mobile app but both the main satcom-70 page and the uplink.satcom-70 store a few hundred bytes on your phone (cookie or app data), but I don’t have a convenient way on my current phone to verify what is there. Use the link in the email if you want them to know your CSD ID.
With the “10 days prediction” look for an orange result, it will tell you what day it will be the best (and you local time). With a 80° El I had a 0.984 strength result.
It would be interesting to know at how many degrees (El) minimum we can reach the 1.0x. I guess that 90° is pretty rare, i had 0.984 with 80° and I have to wait until the 31st for a 84°. I hope it’ll be enough.
Just Cause 4, The Satellite Walker… I dunno man.
I used the 10 day tracker to determine the best time to sync. I was near 0.98 2 min before the tracker said the sat was over head. I then hit refresh and synced again… and again like 4 times. As soon as the exact time the tracker said the sat would be nearest to me, it started to increase. I waited almost 10 minutes before I hit send results to see if it would continue increasing, it then started to lag so I tried to press send results. The page then refreshed itself. I then tried to sync again but the signal strength was decreasing.
If you have iOS make sure you got to your privacy settings , click on location services and scroll down to safari and make sure it’s turned on to while using: same concept for android
I missed my chance. A Real Life emergency (a friend) needed assistance and I was away from the house. All satellite passes from then on were far away (1,000+ miles) from my location. Oh well, RL comes first.
