i don’t think these have to do with the egg, next three weeks we’re just getting more decorations (rocks, then banners, then plants) for our bases

Honestly, I’m not, unless they turn out to be voltron-style explorable outside and in… It’s just my go-to thought when I have no idea what’s up with HG. “New update? No info? well, let’s just assume it’s space whales”. Keeps a bit in theme with the running gag they were during development (see clemms post above).
Also, to speculate about that image a bit more seriously: There’s 6 things on it. Upper-right, clearly an egg. upper left, quite possibly a heart, right of that not sure, looks like some type of celular structure.
Below the egg, most definitely a spine of some sort, lower left definitely a brain. The big one, of course, no idea… It might be a creature if it is water- or spaceborn, but it might also just be another part of something larger.
The theme of growth, development and modular complexity is clearly pervasive however. What it means, though… no idea. Space whales, maybe?

I do admit, I was one of the ones who requested space whales a couple years ago. More specifically, large multi-dimentional space whales(ex: like in Futurama) that you can land on and explore, name, and get rewards for exploring inside. It would have its own biome inside it with rare items. I also suggested a harpoon for ships to grapple on to it (and/or other ships for bounties wanted alive.) and when your on the whale, it would randomly warp around the universe and falling off of it would put you somewhere random.

To me its saying the egg is an embryo. Then 4 body parts clearly numbered 1-4. Heart, brain, spine and maybe liver…or a lung, not sure either.
*or 1-3=4 going by the text differences
But otherwise im stumped

Why oh why do I keep seeing Luigi Serafini images posted (I have a digital copy)? The style of the image posted by SM is nothing like it. Just because the Codex Seraphinianus contains two illustrations with eggs? Even SM’s reply was clear.
As for the new items to be unlocked, we are currently in QS Shop 22, while the source code contains all items upto shop 36 with most containing several tiers. All items to unlock in the near future, have already been data-mined and do not really appear to relate to the current egg hype. The one Mystery Egg, is not currently listed as a shop item at all. So whatever this may be, we currently have no clue.
I think Hello Games has quite a bit of time left to deliver a new and possibly big update, answering all the questions we may currently have.
These were all clues for the Abandoned Building location where we received the final messages for this egg mystery. Not 3 different locations.
Love the speculation going on in this topic. The egg sure went ‘viral’

Truth is Sean took too much Geknip.
But honestly though once the update is released everyone is going to be saying the clues were so obvious .
Also ,this teaser is very reminiscent of the frigate images Sean posted a month before Next added frigates .I think we have a while to wait until the update comes out unfortunately.

Those weren’t posted, they were hidden in the ARG and therefore had a certain context surrounding them. The whole melody of the egg thing could be considered in a similar context and therefore doesn’t have to be an indication of anything imminent, but Sean has only ever started tweasing like this if something was in the launch tubes.

Could be anything:
Could simply be a suggestion of the lifecycle of NMS as a game with its various updates & growth’.
Could be the new update allows ‘breeding’ or ‘farming’…perhaps growing your own custom pets/livestock from a more advanced discovery menu options list.
Could be the long awaited (yet rather silly) spacewhale thing.
Could be the suggestion of one more final reset & rebirth of the NMS universe.
Could be the foundation of an all new storyline, which we know something of already.
Could be (& in my opinion most likely is), an Easter update featuring various new weird & wonderful stuff we can’t even predict.
My outlandish (& very unlikely) personal prediction is:
The ability to terraform dead worlds using fancy new machinery & scanned finds from other discoveries from other worlds, creating all new worlds that can be uploaded & shared… ultimately (sort of) providing the ‘Birth a New Star’ part that many long term players will remember.

I give up warping to new systems. I assume I’m not getting any hints (well, only one since Sunday) because I visited the target planet before it started, maybe that messed up the conditions.
Is there anyone here who was shown all hints when warping AND also visited the planet once before having the egg?
