[quote=“Argh, post:628, topic:2863”] @Argh, Thank you so much for the links and the advice. You are a hero in my books and I hope that soon others will take note of your work on this.
Pretty exciting stuff.
I back up my saves at the end of each play session. Sometimes, if playing for more than a few hours I will make another save.
Playing around with the saves in a separate folder is definite must do. Don’t want to screw up the game (more than it is --lol)
And now I’m off to bed (late again) Will check in tomorrow… Thanks again.
Don’t know if this helps but I noticed this problem with the harvesters, I noticed that when I removed the gas first and not fill them up completely it would kick me out of the refilling process and I would go back in and refill, then I would get the problem,
I then tried refilling it before I removed the gas with just a bit of carbon and it didn’t kick me out, filled it up completely then removed the gas, it then kicked me out and started collecting.
Maybe I just got lucky but I haven’t noticed a problem after doing it this way.
Hope this makes sense and please let me know if you still get a problem, I’ll keep a close eye on it too
Ps
P.S. As a rule of thumb I now do this process but refill completely, just to be sure😉
Thanks @FRANK_CADILLAC. Made sense to me (as much as anything in this game does --lol) It may also be helpful to @Argh in their sleuthing on this problem.
Refilling before removing the gas from the harvester is something I never tried, though I always did refill from only full stacks.
As of yesterday I have gone to an affluent system to “harvest” gas from the ships/traders at a trading post.
Each relog gets me over 1200 Nitrogen and 800 radon (so far).
Mal went to an Opulent system and got almost twice that much. That will be my next stop.
Like @Polyphemus suggested, it won’t take long to reach the U limit. (4.5 Billion?)
In your experience do you get better prices at a trade post? I am hunting and hunting for a commodity scanner thingy I’ve tried loads of gek systems but just can’t find one for love nore money!
UPDATE! I’ve arrived in the system with the S-Class Hauler and now I’m just waiting for the right one to spawn in. I’ve seen it in everything from C to A so far, but no elusive S as of yet.
I’m doing the save-reload trick to rejig the spawning but how long do you leave it before reloading? Do you wait for the ship to come in, see it’s the wrong class and reload immediately or wait it out a little longer?
Wait about 5 minutes between reloads and also try different locations if getting frustrated. Patience is the key though; the ship you are after WILL appear eventually.
Thanks @Mad-Hatter , when you say different locations, I assume you mean different Trading Posts on the planet?
The coordinates, I’ve always assumed will only point to a specific planet, rather than a system, (each planet in a system would have slightly different coords?)
Can someone please tell me how to delete a thread I was going to start. My internet is ssoooooo bad I have decided not to do it and now I can’t get rid of it… This has been like the worst week of my life…help, please:sweat_smile: see my emoji didn’t even work.
I wasn’t even actively looking for a replacement S-class fighter, but every few reloads while buying gas from ships at a trading post in as flouring system (buy all gases, wait until they show up with only 1 gas and then save/mode select/reload), I kept noticing this cool S-class would show up. I would occasionally go over to it and check it out. It went from C to B to A and back again to B. Then it landed again next to where I was standing. I check it and it was S-class, 20 slots in fairly decent alignment and six tech slots available! I grabbed it! Called my freighter flew it up to it, got into my old 16-slot S-class and flew back down to reclaim my 34-slot 'rassamomma"-type fighter (my current fave). It was pretty exciting. --especially when I flew first to the wrong trading post and my fighter wasn’t there! I did get it back though.
