Features bases work, its just that that isnt the most clear or intended way to travel between universes. That’s one of the workarounds. Also you cant build a base till your in the new universe so you cant go to a euclid base as you would have never built one.

Apparently, we did not start the expedition in Euclid
I just finished on steam deck. This was my teleporter list when I landed in galaxy 90.

Interesting! Hmm… I wonder why they chose a different galaxy instead of euclid. Now im wondering, have the expeditions always started in different galaxies? I never thought of checking.

I noticed that to right at the end when I was in the Galaxtic Map but after the portal. I wasnt sure if I’d been shunted galaxies or what since I hadn’t noticed earlier. Very interesting.
I did this too. Seemed more appropriate as a new iteration pirate tracker.
I’m yet to explore this ‘new’ galaxy we end up in…it IS one of the originals isn’t it?

I believe it is one of the originals but double check that. I also noticed when warping from one galaxy to the next, there was not the usual ‘color’ ring to indicated the galaxy type. Instead, both had a blue and red double ring.
This galaxy seems to have an abundance of G type systems, or at least the starting area we are sent to does. There also seems to be an abundance of aggressive sentinel planets. However, I have found several paradise planets with calmer or no sentinels in calm and tranquil systems…I can also find planets with low or no storms. It feels like something is different but would really require much more system hopping to determine.

I think that starting in a different galaxy and removing the base computer for the beginning helped to slow the explosive build-out on the initial planets. Usually by the time I start (a day or two after launch) the horizon of the starter planet is littered with icons offering 100K of some resource or all plants etc. This time I don’t think there was more than 2 bases in view. People couldn’t portal back to their favorite Euclid base for resources.
And for speculation, this whole tunnel idea reminds me of Stargate when they found that they could add an eighth glyph to travel between galaxies. Maybe we will get an area code.

oh yeah…never thought of that at all.
Though I wonder in the scheme of things if it matters which universe your in really, most wont start an expedition and that be their main game going forward and those that do… since it would be there first experience, they really wouldn’t notice much in the difference.
But what actually surprises me the most is why the starting universe isn’t also random…

Checked previous expedition info online. Turns out that all past expeditions were in fact in Euclid. Only this one took place in a different galaxy.
Maybe this one was chosen due to favorable procgen results for an expedition about pirates? Or maybe it was for future story reasons that some pirates in galaxy 89 found a way to galaxy/dimension hop?

That’s my guess. Or maybe more of a hope. It would be quite odd if the different starting galaxy for this one expedition was not intentional and doesn’t relate to something we do not yet know.

There seems to have been a recent planetary shift. It happened after the Expedition 6 started so in one of the patches I assume.
Built a base with my Exp 6 file on Steam Deck and returned to find it buried about half way in the ground.
Just landed on a planet with my Steam Exp 6 file and found Star Bulbs buried
I have no idea what it means but it has been a while since this has happened

I mean, they added the effect of frigates flying low on planets, I can see them changing the frigate assets with majestic whales.
Also, if it is space whales, i have a feeling it will be a type of freighter/frigate. However, i’m hoping it will be an interdimensional space whale that you can shoot with a spear and hitch a ride on them.
