I made a joke when PT asked what was in the background in this part of the video (in post above) and I said, “Amiibo”. But, it would be awesome if we could have amiibo and they could be companions, or give a QS item.

The expedition ends really soon, and so will (most likely) the community mission.
Thing is, HG disabled normal QS missions from contributing to the Community Mission count this time around, so that only expedition hand-ins would affect the counter. So, we will definitely get some sort of update whenever tier 5 ends in order to revert that lock on QS mission progress counting towards the Community Mission counter.

I do wish that galaxies in No Man’s Sky could display as maybe edge-on disks in the night sky. Likely wishful thinking, though.
That might require a mix of “plotted” and “positioned” elements.

I would think it would be entirely possible since the sky in NMS is actually displayed on the inside of a bubble that surrounds each system. Not that I know about these things programming wise, but I have flown to the edge of the systems and find that I gradually slip to one side which seems to indicate it is a round surface.

Of course, the Galaxy Map from your starship should not show these since they are not reachable that way.
Maybe, eventually, we will be able to open a universe map and navigate that way too.
Or perhaps we really should have a Multiverse map. Oooo.
OK, now I’m getting excited.
A Universe map becomes available only after meeting select criteria. A Multiverse (multi-dimensional) map then becomes available after more criteria are met.

Wouldn’t be too hard, I think. The major issue right now would be that they don’t actually have a location, they’re just instances, but that would be relatively easy to fix.

I think discourse on this website has been updated or changed because I can no longer get this site to work on Firefox 86. It just says it’s out of date (well, it is almost 1.5 years old, sooo very old).
