I didn’t read your spoilers, but… I’m sure I’d like them.
And rather than clutter up with another post, @sheralmyst you always have such sweet pics to share. And I love seeing dark space, if not black, with SOME nebula. That’s very pretty.
I still haven’t been in that alternate universe yet, but I’m getting that itch…
One more edit. @temp Those critters almost look like something from an awful scene I wrote.
If anyone happens to pass through system Dieshi…( I think that is how it is spelled) I was able to claim the ringed planet in that system. It has lots of water and was were I searched for my Hadal Cores. I am currently working on a base but it is not ready for upload.
Heh… rescued that exact same freighter. They thanked me over coms and invited me aboard, but when I came in to dock I almost ended like a bug on a wiendshield because the bastards wouldn’t lower their hangar shields!
I understand both sides. Some like the “special” feeling that a limited expedition of getting unique rewards. Some buy the game after an expedition and can’t play it. Some don’t have the time to play right now (like me) and can’t play it later.
It’s no-win situation for Hello Games.
I’m unhappy because I’ve had little time to even play, let alone play an expedition.

I’m loving No Man’s Sky vicariously through the forum and, maybe later, a video. (Sigh)
I’m wondering why HG didn’t implement temporary ground disturbance where the Titan Worms leave & contact the ground?
With the Terrain Manupulator providing the mechanic for this, I’m curious why HG didn’t include a temporary ‘hole’ (say about 10 units deep) at these points.
It could then close in again a minute or so later, like when we ‘restore’ much like a collapsing loose material tunnel would.
Could’ve added to the realism a little as the ‘ghost’ worms don’t damage the surface & it takes a direct hit from the head to knock you flying. The rest of the body can be passed through uninhibited. I understand this limited body mass is probably necessary due to collision/size issues but the terrain manipulation is already a thing so why not use it?
I generally blow the doors off with my ship weapons. OTT, I know, but it’s a little aerial combat aiming challenge I set myself. Then, when the sentinels get upset, I try to take them out as well.
There’s lots of ways to make this game more amusing.
I don’t know, but just seeing it from the point of view of a programmer: there are lots of things that can be done, but do they add to the gameplay, are they worth the time invested? You can add sandworms to Tetris and Skyrim etc , but how would that make the game better? And you have to make all these decisions like “what if a player is standing in that hole or building a base in it, when it closes?” and you’d roll your eyes and you couldn’t be bothered
And from many voxel-based games I heard that, the more terrain changes, the slower it renders, so I’d avoid adding 1-min decorational holes.
