Do you mean in the Galactic Map?
Seeing CONTACT in the galactic map means that system has been discovered before. Either by you or a previous traveller.

yes, that’s what I mean. So it is crowdy in the Euclid galaxy in the PS 4 version :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I have only warped to one other system yet, so very much in the beginning and I see a lot of Contact words…

As far as I know, all players start somewhere around 700,00 lightyears out. Many, if not most, of the systems you find at this radius have been discovered by players starting new games. If you move in or out from that distance, things get less busy.

That is exactly what I was thinking from the beginning of Atlas Rises! I’ve been thinking that:

Since NMS is a simulation, some or all travellers must be humans(I think) since it was mentioned in game that we are travellers too. So SM’s Atlas Rises 3 main characters might be humans that got stuck in the game a long time ago. Considering that, I was thinking that some how the ARG is going to mention those 3 again, like they did last year, to provide more back story to them.

Also, if i remember correctly, wasn’t Artemis, Nal and Apollo already dead and what we saw were their “echos”? If so, wouldn’t that mean that Arnaud would die if he was Artemis?

I could be very mistaken but thats just what my memory is recalling.

The ARG has given us information about seperating human consciousness from human bodies to be placed in machines. So that would also sorta hint that Arnaud’s body may die but live on in the machine?

(Blurred in case no one has passed Atlas Rises yet)

Thank you
I have a feeling that the Next update will have us all start over again. Don’t think Hello Games wants the Xbox customers find planets that have already been discovered…
Soo, I just play around getting acquainted to a controller on the PS 4 for the first time (I do play regularly on my PC with mouse and keyboard, but up till now offline) and proceed slowly until the update drops…

I have had several new games where it took a number of jumps to find undiscovered space. Just keep on feeding that warp reactor!

I am under the assumption that Xbox will be separate from PS4, like the PC is.

This pdf has led me down a rabbit hole so deep, I had to share it.
http://www.fhi.ox.ac.uk/Reports/2008-3.pdf

look at
Dynamical state from page 37
“A likely consequence would be amnesia of the time closest to the scanning.
However, loss of brain activity does not seem to prevent the return of function and personal identity.”

Analog computation from page38
“If computations in the brain make use of the full power of continuous variables the brain may
essentially be able to achieve “hypercomputation”, enabling it to calculate things an ordinary
Turing machine cannot”

The whole pdf is worth reading a few times.

well, maybe eventually, it will be cross platform multiplayer, if servers can handle that lol

I will, thank you! Now looking for a ship that has already a warp reactor sigma inside…
The only thing I am good at in every game is gathering units lol

It’s imaginable between Xbox and PC. I’m hopeful they will manage to get GoG/Steam to cooperate, because if not that would kind of suck for GoG users, and as such also for GoG as a whole (still the best distribution platform on PC. I never get a game on steam if it’s on GoG). It’s not a question of whether “the servers can handle it”, but whether the platform APIs are capable of communicating with each other.

However, I’d bury all hopes of getting the PS4 in the mix right away. Sony doesn’t allow it, period.

EDIT: Just checked, GoG and Steam do appear to offer cross-platform capability with each other.

So is it just Kyle Culver that is missing his dev kit?

Well, happy to know that GoG and Steam are already there… If Sony wants to keep up with the “evolution”, they will come around eventually…

By the way I like the way GoG gives you the choice: play online or offline. Just don’t want them to take away that choice. I have immensely enjoyed No Man’s Sky on PC offline for the past two years.
Only reason for me to turn to the PS4 is because 3 of my grandkids play NMS on this platform, so after Next update I will be able to play the game with them, but only when secure and safe servers are offered and I believe everyone is able these days to set up his/her own server through discord for instance. Hope in that way everyone will be able to play NMS the way they want it to.
I know, everything is still in development on the Internet, but surely the gamers will have the
final say in this . It is the way game development is heading, more and more game developers really do listen to their gaming public, giving them a large say in how to proceed further…

No, Keep PC players away form PS4, or any dedicated gaming console. Having players use the same hardware is (in my opinion) the most important aspect of achieving a fair and equal gaming experience. The most toxic people only play pc games for a reason.
Are you trying to start a console vs PC war here or something?

No I am not.
Just am an observer watching what is going on in the different gaming communities.
And drawing my own conclusions from it.
But remember, everything is relative. I am already 72, so I only speak from my own experience, having been in the gaming field for a long time.

Yeah I can do it again any time after 6PM EST M-Sat Sunday I am completely open.
@bcatrek

Sorry for the late response, been trying to get a piece of hardware working on private server.

Not going so well so far, I am down to two more options before I will call tech support and they will laugh and say you need upgraded hardware Fingers crossed this isn’t the case
