The Lore of NMS point to many ancient civilizations. It is suspected that 100’s of civilizations bloomed and died over millenniums. The current civilizations in the game represent only the most recent ones. As each civilization dies, others “absorb” their history into their own “lore”…until the cycles repeat. We are merely the new “travelers” in space…but it was “foretold” that we should be allowed to explore and interact as we see fit…as if we are the ultimate “cosmic bringers of All-Truth”! -)
