I scrolled down in the Objectives… Crystallized Helium is formed in the hostile conditions of gas giants
Stompers? Clompers?
It’s basically a Whomping Willow that fell down the Joe Rogan pipeline and uses HRT steroids to get mad jacked.
Shy hermit crabs can be found scuttling across underwater terrains, improvising their mobile homes from a range of different shells and shell-like objects.
How did I miss this in the patch notes the first ten times I read them?
And the secret to finding a gas giant is…what?
I believe you must find the Butt Giant first… The rest is self explanatory
Please correct me if I’m wrong:
We used to have four colours for star systems - yellow, red, green and blue. Some of these were dissonant - the colour was no guide.
We now have five colours - yellow, red, green blue, and purple (in my map, it can be difficult to tell blue from purple). All the newly added systems are purple, and all the purple systems are dissonant. Random dissonant systems still exist within the other colours, but the purple ones are all dissonant.
Purple systems can only be accessed by ships using an Atlantid drive.
Did I miss anything important?
Here is the moment I experienced in the mission. There was nothing there and then an explosion of light as it came to be.
From a narrative standpoint, I think they’re being created. From a technical standpoint, they would probably be hidden seeds that they can reveal on demand…
The NMS map is created from a grid of X,Y,Z co-ordinates. Each of these coordinates forms a node, and each node has a unique cartesian address. Each node can potentially form a star system - all the game engine needs is that unique seed. However, to give the impression of a real galaxy, only a tiny proportion of the nodes are actually allowed to show on the galactic map.
The node matrix already contains all the information the game needs to create billions and billions more star systems.
Recorded depth on the water planet I was just on was 1,400 u.
I think my highest record before was somewhere around 200 u, I had a false one recorded when I glitched to the centre of a planet that took its place a while back.
Adding a built in booster to the Nautilon was a smart move.
I was correct.I have to be in Euclid for the story to continue. The atlas interface is unable to find purple systems in other galaxies it seems. At leat thats what happened to me.
No problem in galaxy Paholiang.
I was happy to find that I could update my freighter’s engines while it was outside the system and I was in a purple one. A pleasure to then call it in and be reunited.
I want to see @toddumptious with a boot to the head ASAP
I’m not in Euclid & mine has worked as it should (glitchy issues not withstanding)
I believe the choices made at the Atlas reveal as yet unseen star systems. We don’t create them we reveal them & they match our choices… I think.
PS5: I’ve been experiencing an issue on worlds where you swim near the ocean floor and the water disappears, causing you to drop (including the nautilus if its next to you). If you are in the nautilus when this happens the game will lockup. Only way to save yourself, is to climb to the nearest undersea mountain and jetpack up. Hopefully you will get high enough to spawn the water back in.
Here’s an example in my stream (found both a cute hermit crab and a massive squid)
So now im not sure if this was coincidence but all 3 selections that I chose did show up on one planet in the purple star system that was revealed. Vykeen, paradise, storms, the name of the planet even had a name that referenced my selections. Not near my pc right now but I think it ended with a “Y”.
And after going there to collect the story resource, I went back to Polo and he referenced my visit to the paradise planet.
I figured that it would be the same for everyone?
That is how it worked for me. The planet had a very unique name when I flew towards it. Snapped a pic but I am going to sleep now. Perfect timing. I just ran out of
Random little experience I encountered…
I found a nearby star system to my (currently glitched game) home that was found 9 years ago.
Hard to believe that’s how long the ‘Day-One’ crowd have been out there.
Thanks! I will keep looking. I found a Misty Giant. Had to get some sleep finally.
Has anyone found the ruin-filled planets?
