Worlds part 2 - Update 5.50 (Spoilers)

I want to like this comment so bad but I ran out of likes. Been awhile since ive done that

So far I only experienced 1 crash. It happened when pinning the living glass recipe. But it didnt happen a second time. Could be a 1 time thing.

Nope. Spinner. Cause that is what it does. Spins like blades in a mixer.

Almost looks like it needs 3D glasses?

We now have east and west markers. When did that happen?

Just now. I think it was mentioned in the QOL section of the patch notes. Lots of tidbits hiding in there like this.

I notice nobody’s talking about the new reverse colostomy bag we can have on our exosuit now. I wonder why

The new exosuit upgrade for exocraft summoning will be handy for those new purple systems while we work towards a purple drive upgrade for our freighter.

The Exo-Skiff now has a functioning grill for mid-sea cookery.

Installed. Working on the exo summoning unit. I needed it just now and had no way to call in my Nautilon. Can’t call in the Freighter in the new systems until I upgrade the drive in it. Exploring deep oceans is awesome but you do get a warning about the pressures of deep water being dangerous. I did not notice any ill affects and did not seem to get the bends when I surfaced, but I did not go below 250U. Not sure where the danger zone begins.
Also, just noticed that as of right now, I cannot warp from the Anomaly to any of my bases while it is in the new system type.

There is a pressure membrane you can get from the anomaly NPC’s for nanites which makes the new depths less squishy.

I just visited the first Atlas station as directed at the beginning of the new Quest line.

I haven’t made all the choices yet but I’m curious, it feels like it’s almost asking me to design a system, or perhaps design my own destination… Like my choices are going to influence where it’s going to send me.

First choices are race type for a star system, second set seems to represent what type of planet you will want to find there, each describing one of the new planet types.

Going to see what the third Paylod set is now… This is crazy so far

Not sure if chance but I chose Korvax as the first memory fragment, and the descriptions for the third memory fragment for Storm, hunted and Horror seem to all be from the perspective of a Korvax.

And now that I think about it… What the hell are we doing? Don’t we normally consult with Nada and Polo before doing stuff like this? We’ve gone rogue! :joy:

edit:

The first purple system it pointed me to nearby is a Korvax system… Did I just make that or what the hank is going on?

Did you get a cutscene? As far as I can remember, this is the first one we have ever gotten in a mission. I was zoomed out to the galactic Atlas to witness the birth. It was a very proud moment. :face_holding_back_tears:

Yup
And now that I’ve gotten there…

I chose Korvax, Flood and Horror as my memory (I wanted storm but was afraid it would teleport me to a blizzard planet and the bug I’m experiencing on ps5 would screw me XD ). I just arrived to the purple system, it’s korvax dominant and there is a water planet there and when I move my ships scanner to it, the info scan tells me its “memory fragment b” ;0;

We’re not actually birthing these systems are we? Surely it’s just revealing and pointing me to the nearest one matching my parameters from the choices? That seems the more plausible.

I just completed the questline. Was a little shorter than I was expecting to be honest but happy about it still.

It doesnt seem that we are birthing new systems. I believe it just points you to one that matches what you selected.

Thanks for clarifying Jupiter

I must say, SpiderMan/Assembled Construct is looking great with the new lighting and material changes, they used to be a smokey bloomy mess, they still have that jj lens flare though.

Technically I thought we are restoring them in the space between realities and then we anchor them so that they are now part of the current universe or so they can be visited by others. These are the worlds stuck behind the glass aren’t they?
I mean that is the story, but yes, HG placed them into the game for us to ‘find’

I searched “Yabli” to see if it had any literary significance but it just leads to this man who thinks his coke is a telephone conversation.

The Autophage is called Yabli-α for everyone else right?

It was very much my impression that we did make new star systems.

A cut scene has been mentioned. But everyone saw a different cut scene - it was the galactic map, spreading out from your location, new systems popping into existence. And since we’re all in different locations, we all saw different cut scenes.

That was my impression too. They are the systems that vanished from the erasure of previous systems, specifically, the ones that were home to those who fled Korvax Prime, but they are not the actual world’s but rather worlds filled with the data stored from those vanished worlds. That is why we use Nada’s terminal. We are pulling the data from where he safely stored them. We are the backdoor. We were able to bypass the Atlas’ safety protocols and integrate the data from these worlds back into the simulation
For once, finally, a story line I feel like I could follow

From whence do we get crystallized helium

It seems you cannot use the Interstellar Teleporter aboard the Anomaly while in a purple star system, due to Dissonance Interference , was trying to warp back to my freighter and the space station was all the way over there…

Space Station had no bother letting me teleport out to somewhere else.

Not a clue but it’s what I’ll be gunning for, I landed on a water planet with no nautilon ingredients, which is why I was heading back to freighter. I see the new exocraft summoning unit requires it and I’m definitely building that next. I’ve got a sinking feeling the helium might be in the ocean

Welp, I played through the new mission, gave my selections, and absolutely nothing happened. Revisiting the atlas, or visiting a new atlas station leads me to the same post choice messages. I am not in Euclid, which may be the reason. I’ll download my cloud save and try again from Euclid. This is PS5 on a pathfinder-era save with 2.5k hrs on it.

I always disable PS5 cloud saves before playing an update for the first time. this is why. XD

I came across this, which appears to be a relative of Harry Potter’s Whomping Willow. As you approach it, the arms and stamen extend upwards and out, then it smashes down on you.
