Errors usually, or perhaps someone abusing the system in some fashion.
You can actually submit a system without submitting any planets. The min requirements are name, glyphs, hostility, economy and Race.
For example, the Galactic Huh batch uploaded 5,000 systems from their own xml records. It had zero planet data. So right now we have 6500 systems total but the planet count is a lot lower as a result.
So far the rejections for us (the top three no-lifers on the leaderboard) have been submitting test systems with made up data to see if a bug or problem with the sub admin accounts was fixed/still occuring.
Thats why Ekimo has the most rejected, they’re the creator of the map. Sub admins have the power to approve submissions and I was given one, so ive entered the QA department ![]()
Civilisation/hub leaders/representatives can have admin accounts and then give sub admin accounts to other members of their civ. Only a civ member can approve a civ submission to prevent griefing etc.
Im not in any registered Civ on the map so I can only see and approve submissions that are tagged as Personal.
Theres some pretty good privacy features that took the galactic community into consideration. You can even set which system/planet data you want to be made public or private/viewable just for logged in members of your civ.
As for the Artemis blender plugin trick, I’ll absolutely make a guide now that I know how to do it.
I chose the NMS Base Deco Sphere for the initial experiment as it was the best object to use for geonodes “Distribute Points on Face/Mesh” function to get a smooth “sculpt”.
Im not that familiar with blender and learning geonodes for the first time so Im sure theres more advanced techniques that could be used, like a random assortment of multiple NMS items would be fun to try, but I dont really understand how collections etc function in blenders project window.
The colouring was just a quick slapdash while testing, plan to do a proper job, wood seems ro be the best bet for a single solid colour but gonna see how different textures suit different materials. Limited to the NMS colours so I dont know if ill be able to do their skin texture and colours too much justice.
The eyes also need some work. Beady ol Artemis ![]()
