Weekly Community Event Season One - General Discussion, tips and Feedback

That’s the oops part, in sir_oops. So, who was the Gek leader of the first spawn?

Update: honestly I haven’t read the lore in a long time. :man_shrugging:

They’d probably just burn him on a stake and go on believeing what they used to believe…

Week 3 rewards just appeared in the anomaly. New task about to launch.

(edit)

Oh, and as the patch notes suggested, there are now four landing pads in the anomaly. It looks like they’re expecting us to go there in groups.

I’ve been wondering when those landing pads would appear. The trailer for NEXT showed multiple players on not only a frigate but the atlas stations too. When it wasn’t possible on release of NEXT I figured it was something they were ironing out or keeping put of reach until they got the MP experience stable across the board.

Next community quest is to kill sentinels.

I’ve been careful this time. I backed up my save before I started, and I’m going to hand in the results in batches of 25. I don’t want to be cheated out of my quicksilver again.

(edit)

I’ve finished it. I made 5,750 quicksilver from it.

Be warned - the limit for this one is nowhere near 100. It’s more like 25, but I’m not sure, because the message that tells you how many you’ve collected stopped appearing. After the introductory section (2,000 Qs), I made one trip to Polo with a small number of kills. I was surprised that it gave me 1950 Qs. I went back, and started killing more, but only managed maybe 9 or 10 sentinels before the message “data limit reached” came up.

In the last quest, you missed out on a lot of quicksilver if you handed the data in all at once. So I suggest for this one that you make several trips with small amounts, say, 5 or 10.

It looks like your very own Wheatley. :grinning:

Do we use a portal again too, like the previous missions?

Yes. Go through portal, visit the marked site, and kill sentinels. Then visit Polo, and gain 2,000 quicksilver.

Then visit the quicksilver vendor robot in the anomaly. After that, you can kill sentinels anywhere in the galaxy.

Report the data back to Polo, and he gives you more quicksilver.

Just be careful - there’s a limit to how many you can kill, and still earn quicksilver. And it’s not a high limit.

In the previous quest (feeding animals), if you reached the limit, and handed in the data all in one go, you lost a lot of quicksilver.

Since the data limit for this quest is a lot lower, I suggest handing in your kill data in very small quantities.

Following on from my last post, I have just completed the quest again, on another of my saves.

I got 3,900 quicksilver this time - by handing the data over to Polo (mostly) in batches of 5.

It seems that the data limit is 25, and that it is really important to submit your data in small quantities. No more that 5 at a time.

Waiting on the event to start, as I do not plan on giving experimental a try until some of the newly introduced issues have been resolved.

Thanks man, I’ll give it a try when I get home later!

I’m stuck at work right now

For some reason, the Anomaly is not showing up for me…

Did you get the message from Polo?

Looks like there’s a lot less to buy this time, so there should be plenty of quicksilver. That’s good, I just barely had enough from week1 extras + the optimal week2 plan to get everthing so far.

I’m also still waiting for the event to trigger on PC. Nothing yet, figured there would be a small update first like previous weeks.

I’m on PC experimental. I had a 244.6 Mb update yesterday. Then the community task triggered this afternoon.

I’m not aware of any update today.

It seems there are quite a few bugs in the latest experimental release. If the community task is mixed in with that, they may have to delay it.

Once I started hearing reports that they were capping quicksilver in week 2 once that patch was in experimental I took my PS4 offline to keep it from updating and duped hex cores to bank up a ton of quicksilver…because I am not playing these BS shenanigans anymore…PC users can just save edit infinite quicksilver and I have to just not be able to buy everything. Absolutely NOT happening. I was happy to grind for it legit but no, that’s not good enough for them…they want to just force us to lock content away from us. NOT happening.

…or like myself you just don’t do any of it and carry on as per usual.
I knew it would be bugged and I was sure HG would later annoyingly nerf it so I just haven’t bothered with it at all.
Might sound cynical but history does seem to repeat a bit in the NMS universe.

Yes I can call Polo from space but, I have not seen the Anomaly at all. Going to try a restart.

Edit: Did not work. Guess I will just have to save my Quicksilver for next time.

Edit again: I have now lost my Atlas Path…

You are not alone in that. I went through the portal to the “community planet” in week 1, looked around and went back through the portal to make sure I could get back. Did some reading here and on that “other forum” and decided to just stay away from those events. The game is still offering me enough to do for now.
