Weekend Event

Sorry for not posting this sooner…I was a bit busy/ distracted.

With all of our main saves (including Normal mode for a first time) and permadeath with our secondary saves, KnightAlese and I encountered a fight with biological horrors again with the weekend mission. However there were some bugs that occurred in addition that leads me to believe that this may show up as a sort of bug.

  • In 2 cases, our accounts were in different lobbies but we were in a group for the weekend mission. And as noticed again when this happened before, the horrors attacked KnightAlese and not me.
  • In all cases this time, there was a kill count of 6 to achieve that did not lower when monstrosities were killed. We basically had to fight and dodge until the swarm subsided.
  • This time the battles occurred either at the mouth of the portal or near to the destination. (But not both in one mission.)

Unfortunately, its hard to say what the issue is. Are the biological horrors attacking deliberate, or am I seeing the bugs of bugs with the kill counter not moving down or the attacks happening in differing places?

I hear of other players observing this second hand, but the attacks happened with all of our multiplayer sessions but 1 this weekend (and still not observed in solo play.) It looks like to me that they are ramping up more with each successive weekend and it surprises me that there aren’t more players discussing it.

Players in your team intermittently not being in the same multiplayer lobby is definitely an issue for zendesk (thank you for the reminder.)

Nope. Nothing new.
Knowledge stones>portal>gather>give>portal>hand in.

I didn’t even remember to talk to an npc in the nexus. Just went ahead and followed the routine.

There was a nice base there that made interesting use of the new triangular parts though.

I almost left without speaking to the NPC. I almost missed the prompt.
Gathered 1000 solanium. Sacrificed it.

I believe it is optional to talk with the NPCs. I was able to complete the mission without speaking to them.

ugh, im over these events - at least someone generous gifted me the solanium and i could get it over and done with.

some idiot was on the holo terminus lobbing grenades down, realised the update had changed my network settings, had to get them back to no damage/change etc was almost a goner othwerwise.

first time encountering the biological horrors at the portal, and at the holo terminus site, would of made it interesting except for the chaos of multiplayer glitches , so many ships just hanging/frozen in the air around the site

Yes. I believe this is the answer we have been seeking…? When I got to the holo terminus, there were hordes of monstrosities and some guy standing on his ship. Not sure how the little creatures showed up there…I just jetted over the whole batch and onto the terminus. All were gone by the time I came back down.
I guess the question is, is this a bug or are other players causing this to happen?

Last thing I did before leaving the planet this weekend was use the new terrain restore mode to fix all the pits around the portal… I suspect that didn’t last long though. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Here on PC, some lunatic has managed to build something on the quest destination holo tower.

The area is also full of paralysed ships, just hanging in the air.

Agreed. I don’t mind bases that are near the waypoint but right on top of it is bit too much.
Is that supposed to read AC/DC and be a radio?

I am glad more players are mentioning the biological horror attacks. This weekend, 4 of the 5 saves in which I played the weekend mission had this occur. Besides the same 2 players, multiplayer was the thing that those 4 missions had in common (occurring in all modes, creative was not tested). I was not attacked during the one I did solo.

I have also noticed that the location is not consistent. It happens both just outside the portal upon arrival or at the mission location.

There seems to be a kill count of 6 that does not move down with kills. It will move down, but the swarm will subside usually before the count goes to zero.

This has been a steady increase in frequency of attacks from the first weekend mission, which leads me to believe that we are possibly heading towards a villain for the game with the culmination of these weekend events.

I had no idea there was extra content when talking to the NPCs.

I completed 5 missions without doing this on PS4.

So watch out for players joining you on missions with the intention of ambushing you. Two of them tried to get to me at the departing portal. If you are not wanting PvP then make sure your settings are appropriate. Wish we could simply retaliate in force and turn the tables.

Just to clarify all of the above: the monstrosities attacking are happening in the Weekend Event, not in the daily Community Event.
This is confusing some members.
So we are talking about the Weekend Event in this thread.
Should the monstrosities be attacking us in the Weekend Event? Is this a bug or does it point to the menace that is approaching through the new lore that is coming,(sooner or later) with the Weekend Events?
I hope that clarifies the issues for those who are confused.
While we wait to find the answer, please continue to post the 2 events in their respective threads.
