Emily posted 6 times the same message on Reddit, there are 6 “W/RE labs” all around the world. Maybe we have to listen when the sat is close to these locations.

Also, each of the 6 text messages has different formatting glitches hidden in it.
Wait a minute… We have essentially two different sound files. One with the “blirr” after the second boom and one without. Originally I thought this was dependant on distance to the satelite (i.e. signal strength) but that hypothesis didn’t survive the day.
So… after reading the email, I think the sound with the blirrr might come from the mentioned corruption.
Can we confirm that this particular sound is only received in certain regions? I think polyphemus was the one that got it, do you always get that one, never the other? Would that already be enough to determine the lab it’s sent from, or do we need to more locations to narrow it down (I would guess so)?

So the blirr sound doesn’t indicate a proximity to the corrupting upload. Theory shot down. On to the next one.
