That’s an interesting point, @sheralmyst. If the update does indeed drop, it makes it sound like the changes that happen in-game might be confusing and bizarre. For instance, what if (for example) all the existing races disappeared and were replaced with new ones? We would immediately see that, but not understand the ARG reasoning for why it happened.
Emily seems to be in trouble: I suspect she had spread into W/are’s servers (hence all of the “CORRUPTED” messages on their website), and in attempt to expunge her, W/are has launched an attack on Myriad. Perhaps Emily is hoping to stow away on NMS’s servers until the heat dies down. That could explain massive changes to NMS, if that happens.
The phrase @sheralmyst quotes from Sean Murray makes me think ‘the cause is hidden’ could suggest we have to find something in the game that will open up something new. It may only need to be found by one person for whatever ‘visible to all’ becomes visible for everyone else. Maybe multiplayer. Maybe we have access to a third person view of our character - we can visibly see each other! Or maybe the cause is hidden behind that third door in the anomaly we still have to open.
What if it is simply a mobile app, a No Man’s Sky face time calling thing. So we can take part in the game using a mobile phone and be a passenger in a VR flight or something. Perhaps we can use our phone camera to project our heads onto the screens in the Freighter bridge consoles.
Maybe the Telegram simply invites us search for something that unlocks the remaining Atlas Passes we all hope to receive.
SO many possibilities to this science fiction adventure. It is Easter after all very soon, so maybe this is an Easter egg…
The cosmos really have aligned if they release the update tommorow since I have a dentist appointment and Im off from work
What are the odds of that? One in 18 quintillion?
The Waking-Titan Ware-tech site and some of the picture imagery used in the advertisements leaves me curious. Particularly this image of the mobile phone and buildings schematic.
Could that be a hint of procedural cities to appear in game for us to find. Maybe those curious portals will now function with our passes or something to reach them perhaps. gulp hype histeria alert ha ha.
Then again someone clever I am sure will say, don’t be daft that’s a map of Liverpool.
Another reason as to why these posters (and several others) may be correct is that so far there has been no involvement of the general community as occurred previously. This would also include any tasks assigned to those holding the unique ID assigned to those of us receiving Level 4 Atlas Passes. Potential recipients had been cautioned in emails to not disclose certain information and there has not been any involvement of those persons or groups assigned the same access level.
Admittedly, plans and intentions may have changed.
Oh gosh what if they can only be found in the final Galaxy… It’ll be months before we all get there to look for that Red Star. You may yet be correct though @Finnerty. But HG would have time to perfect their update to be ready for Summer time.
Hmmm, what if they drop an update with content to compliment the arg? Small update to integrate game with arg objectives. Then later on at the arg conclusion, drop the full update. That would be incredible!
That would make sense and we still have to discover some Glyphs on the Waking Titan site. Intergrating the ARG with NMS the actual game has to happen at some point I hope. It would be a great compliment like you suggest and a great way to do something new, tying real world role-play with an in-game experience and vice-versa. Fun times ahead whatever happens.
The last update was released before all the glyphs were solved. I don’t think they are necessary dependent on each other. That being said, it would make sense for them to release it then… we’ll see where things are going soon enough hopefully.
Yeah, due to an altered work schedule this month, I have the next four days off from work. Which of course means there is NO WAY we get the actual update tomorrow. Sorry.
As a PSVR owner I’d LOVE to have this option for NMS. I’m not sure the base PS4 is up to doing it though, so I think VR would wait for the release of the PS5.
