Okay, now I’m really starting believing we need to reach this 100%…
It didn’t reach anywhere near 100% last time. Eventually the time limit will be reached and something else will kick off.
Sure, it can be that too.
So superlumina-6c has the title with read1 you’re not f4r ye3 this. 6143 is a Prime number.
Awesome!__
But… keeping with the space theme, maybe it’ll be this
You’re right!
Pink… Moon… Drake equation…
You, sir, are a genius.
EDIT: Or ma’am… or whatever
af1983 (taken from the message on the front page) is also a hex color:
So giving my 2 cents here
(For the ones that saw it in discord you can skip my post here)
Last time we were given options it was almost in the void to choose one.
This time we have had a couple of hints so this seems more like a puzzle. It might be our first case of “here is 5 options, choose the right one and the cheerleader lives”
So we have the equation (found using the mails letters) that gives 256. This might just be a hint to think RGB values for the numbers we were given.
Then we have 4 terms once again given by the mails
There seems to be a unifying colour that joins all 4 (again just my opinion so I might be wrong)
Battle of Hasting - there is a commander called Alan the Red
Joseon - flag is red
Royal Society - The crest is red.
Turing - There is something called the Turing red flag test
So maybe 222-14-22 is the option since it seems to be the red one.
Like I said just my 2 cents
That makes a little more sense than pink.
I guess the cheerleader might die.
We’ve got stage 2/3 now, and by ‘stage’ we may think all stages are related / have something common. So, what if this common thing would be those ‘steam keys’? Okay, stay with me now.
Why the order of the answers? Why not from A to E as in the form? What if they were just simple maths, not colors?
And remember, that the final number can’t be below 0, since no one will ask any of you to return those steam keys, right? So, check this out - this is the exact order of the answers on the page:
E 222-14-22=186, abs(186)=186 steam keys
A 24-190-2=-168, abs(-168)=168 steam keys
C 209-3-130=76, abs(76)=76 steam keys
B 117-0-159=-42, abs(-42)=42 steam keys
D 0-205-245=-450, or if we discard 0-, 205-245=-40, abs(-40)=40 steam keys ← that’s the weak point of the theory…
Well… I just woke, and I’ve caught up on reading. You’ve all done some great work, but I fear we were too hasty.
On the bright side, the three outcomes are.
-
We got it wrong and it will reset or continue without whate ver bonus we would have gotten
-
We got it right.

There was never a right answer and it deliberately confused us.
Thinking about it myself, red really does seem to have the greatest theory beh one it.
I also liked whoever’s idea it was that we are setting a difficulty level by doing this.
In any case, well done everyone, too bad my time zone had me sleeping when this was going on :).
I’m still not convinced it’s red because of the imgur link to the math formula with an answer of 256. If someone can find a strong connection between red and 256 then I will be convinced.
Also, pink is just light red. Only our human eyes and culture make it defined as a different color.
Maybe, like @Balmoth said, it’s a clue to get our heads into RGB mode
TBH, there was never really a reason to vote pink. But at the same time, there is not much reason to vote red either. I am quite sure that if I went looking for it, I could find green just as plausible (korea → something jade, alan turing → green apple, etc).
Finally, 256 is a poor clue to point at RGB. For starters it is made up of 3 numbers that (not entirely incidental) have 256 possibilities, this is because they are three 8 bit numbers. Kinda like NMS uses an 8 bit seed for galaxy generation. It could also be a play on the number 16 (16*16 = 256).
So unless anyone has a more solid reason for voting any answer (and I personally don’t even believe they’re supposed to be colors), one might as well vote “pink” just for the sake of collecting all votes in any one basket.
I think, no matter the result, the fact we were able to come up with all this information as a group so quickly is a testament to the solving power present here! I’m still not sure which color to select, myself. But I am super proud!
Well, the #af1983 hex color is a very similar shade of pink to the one in the puzzle, so some on discord are seeing that as a ‘sign’. I’m not really convinced even though I’m the one that noticed it was a color. But at this point it seems like the masses have decided!
Could have something to do with this… mercury_em_spectrum
