I set up a base by a Sentinel Pillar that completely encompassed the control platform and stand. I used the wood building components for the floor, walls, roof and door. In Options/Network I have Can Add Base Parts and Can Delete Base Parts set to No One. I did not upload the base.
After two days this base disappeared from my teleport destinations. I assumed that someone complained.
Wouldn’t everyone be able to open my door and enter?
The friend that I would normally use to test things like this is off camping so I can not check this out. But we often run into bases where we can not get in for various reasons. Number 1 is that power doesn’t work or doesn’t seem to be connected. In one base that I visited during this expedition (had a convenient landing pad) the doors didn’t come in until I came back from walking about.
However, I didn’t think that anyone else could see a base that isn’t uploaded unless they visit while you are around in multiplayer. I’m inclined to look somewhere other than a user’s complaint as a reason for its disappearance. I would bet on a bug or overflow in the list of bases shown to you. You might be able to find the base with a restart of the game with the networking off, that should hide all bases except the ones that you have stored locally.
I wondered about power which is why I like the wooden doors since they don’t use power. I don’t play multiplayer but, since it was a Nexus mission, others could have been sent there. I restarted the game several times and the base never reappeared - made another one in a different galaxy.
If you were sent there by the game, likely others were too. I imagine it got reported. I try to build out of the way during expeditions. I can remember some of the issues we had before the report icon was added. Access to many waypoints were completely blocked… I did not notice any bases at waypoints during this expedition except maybe one underneath a Celestial Archive.
On my first playthrough, the second rendezvous camp terminal led to a salvageable ship - except some clown had built a completely enclosed base building all round it - no doors, no windows.
I took all these on the first night of expedition but only getting around to cropping and compiling today. I still have the last few to add, will come back and edit the rest in tomorrow. (Just need to add Terminal Prime, last atlas prayer and Ignition choice variants.)
edit: Added the last bunch. Laziness means I didn’t crop the last few
I have screens of Corrupt space encounters and all the ASCII messages etc but I wanted to keep this post just to the Main Dialogue as an alternative to the text dump version from datamining.
Yes, I like to consider each post that I read so that I am sure I understand what the poster was trying to say, and to carefully write a response so I don’t say anything too off topic or stupid. Now if I am careful at all, anything I write is ancient history.
I think they put something in the water system because I just felt this faint call to return to a life of running out of daily hearts out of nowhere like a month ago.
Switch expedition running smoothly. The advantage of being a week late, bases filled with resources. Could not get my pics to upload. Will try again later. Made it to Phase 4 easily thanks to huge stacks of needed resources.
Completed.
Atlas 4/ever
I finished the expedition a second time and got the crimson head. I found out the save I chose the atlantid head still had the construct talking about the Atlantid. So I will keep both save games, so that if there’s a difference in the next update based on which you chose, I will be able to play both possibilities on both saves.
