Except that I actually know how to type and hitting a key one-off or in a wrong order can be usual, hitting a capital A which requires shift+a instead of a number key, especially the 7, seems a long shot.

(Besides the capital) I can explain the ‘a’. Looking at a qwerty keyboard, the ‘a’ is far from the ‘1’ key, but Alice & Smith are in Quebec. AFAIK, the layout on French keyboards is azerty. This would place the ‘a’ directly beneath the ‘1’ key.
