Patient Intervention Thread - Alexander

Does anyone else have access to the google drive?

Not to my knowledge. Even @DevilinPixy doesn’t seem to know.

Maybe @emily could help us??

Would it not be the same google drive as the wiki sentences were uploaded too?

Nope. Separate drive, set up by Reddit user. @DevilinPixy explains above.

Hi all,

First and foremost, please relax  I am a night owl, so I have many hours left in the evening still. You can count on me!

However!!—

I am catching up on submissions now. At the moment I have ā€˜real’ (as in actually played on real radio stations) submissions of 5 of the 8 pieces. I’m still yet to comb through this thread to check if there’s others (I know there’s some ā€˜fake’ ones), but to my knowledge at this moment, these 3 pieces are still missing:

  • Love For Sale by Cannonball Adderley
  • You Don’t Know What Love Is by Sonny Rollins
  • The Nearness of You by Errol Garner

If anybody knows where I can find these 3 pieces, as submitted from real radio stations live, please let me know.

In the meantime I will make use of ā€˜fake’ ones.

And also, thank you all for all the submissions of your own ā€˜fake takes’. I expect bits of some or all of them! We’ll see as the creation process continues

Thank you, please be patient, and I am aware of the deadline and don’t intend on leaving anything to the last minute ^^

Some of these will be next to impossible to get for real. Glad you are on the job. Thanks!

Good luck! Hopefully someone manages to get real recordings of those other three…

My goal is to have a complete, submittable version tonight, so there is no last minute panic.

However, tomorrow I will see if any last minute submissions have been provided and work to incorporate those. So please feel free to submit right up to the (almost) last minute, and perhaps they will make it in time!

Again, there will be a completed version before then, this will not be a last minute scramble

At 16.39 the sound fade out, about 1mn without really sound. A9.00 we can hear 2 pieces in the same time (fast and slow one) it sounds a bit weird.

I was really hoping to hear Cobra’s voice. He did a good job and it may not be all that professionally sung but he did it with a heartfelt intention and am sure Alexander will be moved by that.

You need to be in a quieter room! Alexander needs some time for his ears to rest with some quiet music.
Overlapping music is intentional. Listen a second time and your ears will grow accustomed to it.

(But please feel free to continue providing any feedback. I will be up in the early afternoon tomorrow to listen with fresh ears and make any final adjustments and changes.)

I am. But as you can see there’s a big difference at a point

slowly fade out (in the middle of the song) for a minute and we need to turn the volume up very high to hear something. Alexander is 86, not sure his ears are so good

It definitely has a very dreamlike quality to it. I like it. I could see Alexander waking up and all of the songs and announcers still rolling around in his mind…I get it and I like it. :grinning:

No need to adjust the volume, just relax, and if your room is loud, enjoy some silence until it kicks back into gear ^^ I will think about adjusting it to be a tad louder for those with a noisy environment.

I understand your point but, I don’t think he will be hearing this with his ears. Isn’t this going straight into his mind…it is in a dream. :grinning: It may drop out completely on a phone. I am listening on PC and even though it gets very faint, the music is still there. It is very dream like.

Don’t know if anyone’s noticed, but Alexander’s status has changed to ā€˜Critical’
