NMS Interceptor

That’s… kind of how I felt about mine all my life…

Really I wanted to wake up dead. Err well undead. Being a vampire would be awesome.

There was a crowd of villagers came looking for you. They had pointed sticks - perhaps they’re going camping? Cooking kebabs?

Yet another way to get interceptors without fighting sentinels. Shoot Dissonant Resonators from your ship in pirate systems where there aren’t any flying sentinels. I haven’t tried this yet

Thank you so much for posting that video! And also to Beeblbum for creating it.

Let’s hope that this is not an oversight that Hello Games will patch away. :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:

I’m curious, though. Why did he decide to use his freighter instead of just warping in a starship?

OK. Had a pirate controlled system with a corrupt planet but the planet was nothing but mountains, over and over again.

Went looking. Found pirate systems and found dissonant systems but not both. Gave up looking.

Came back a while ago, popped the uncertainty drive to a new location. Found a few dissonant systems and a few pirate systems and then - a combination and on a nice planet. Settled in.

Nope. They have landing gear that fold under. Looking for a pic…

I found one similar to that but orange with different wings. I’ll go back to find it and to get the portal coordinates, locations etc.

From a system named Luxembri, in Euclid. I didn’t hunt for the best class of ship, this one is a B 36+25.

I don’t know his reasoning but I usually use the freighter because its hyperdrive is fully upgraded where as I don’t always get around to upgrading all of the ships that I use. It has a full scanner, a planetary probe so I can scan all planets at once, and an exocraft materializer should I want one of those. Finally I have all containers there so I can get at any resource that I have collected.

I often use my freighter for local warping simply to avoid being dragged into the periodic space battles upon arrival that interrupt my objective & prevent the summoning of my freighter.

Yes. Beeblebum actually mentions that in the video. :upside_down_face:

Also if you travel by freighter, there is a room you can add that lets you call any exocraft down to the planet, I use that feature a lot.

We now have the living ships and interceptors that display great form variety but are not found flying in the wild, only as parts of missions, am I seeing this right? (Assuming that Solar ships are found in the wild in pirate systems.)

It takes effort to find one of them – and then people scrap them and get the next one. I know it’s just pixels, but I find scrapping unique ships cruel, don’t ask me why. I prefer the “release them on a paradise planet” option, but I’d need another crashed ship to swap them with.

End of an era, have been playing NMS since 2016.

Hope to play again before end of year, finances and economic conditions dependent.

Will keep checking in and relying on Atlas CSD posts to stay up to date.

Keep well and MTFBWY all.

:disappointed_relieved: so sorry. Wish I could send you my old rig but I think it is dying a slow death.

Oh no!
Well I’m glad you will be keeping in touch.

I have not yet had the time to get int the Interceptor update but I’m hoping to, soon™. I’ve mostly been watching Mal play it on the big screen. ;`) (as a front seat back seat driver, lol)

I hope you will get the upgrades you need, soon.

I can confirm that crashed interceptors can be found in the wild on dissonant planets, just like regular crashed ships. They show up on your radar, and you can find them just by cruising about in the low atmosphere. You definitely don’t need to find a camp, or fight anything, to claim one.

Here’s one I found today:

Are there any interceptor types that have an unobstructed cockpit view out?
