I’m kinda holding out hope that this actually just means “maps on different levels”, i.e. a galaxy map and a system map, and/or potentially a sector map, combined of course with an increase of complexity and mechanical details on these levels. Small chance, but you never know…
Also, with the whole nexus thing, I can already see myself wanting some regions of the galaxy where the Nexus can’t enter. Where a player or group of players still have to rely on their warp drive to actually explore. The Nexus seems to be a centralised fast-travel mechanic that can basically take you from anywhere to everywhere, which I find a bit… meh.
Has that been empirically stated somewhere? (I probably missed it) But if not, it may be a component they haven’t yet revealed. --You know how Sean likes to draw out this stuff.
I believe it was stated someplace…I think I heard it on CobraTV…I will search…
This could also mean that if cross play were coming it would certainly have been mentioned as part of the 3rd pillar.
Not sure I can find the statement as it was made in the podcast. Looking for the source.
Found it
In addition to that list, Murray was emphatic about one part of Beyond: that its “three pillars” of patch content were held back to guarantee that every new feature was fully functional for both standard players and VR users. Again and again, Murray pointed to design decisions that revolved around the philosophy of leaving the existing NMS community intact.
That’s why VR headset owners haven’t been asked to buy an entirely new SKU. That’s why online features don’t require buying season passes. That’s why a new system of building blocks won’t be restricted to DLC buyers. (Unfortunately, cross-platform play is not in the cards.)
So I was going to hold off a while for VR, but I just realized Best Buy (here in the U.S.) has a 12 month same as cash (no interest!) promotion going on right now.
Picked up a new Oculus Rift S for $399 (USD) which breaks down to only $33.25 a month!
Got it all set up and working last night. Tried Subnautica VR and omg if you haven’t tried VR yet, you’re missing out!
Now I’m ready to experience NMS Beyond to its fullest. Cant wait till the 14th!!
You really don’t know what that sense of depth and scale is really gonna bring to your gaming experience until you actually try it can’t wait to experience no mans sky like that I bought one with the wishful thought that some day no mans sky would go VR
That’s very cool that you can pay in monthly installments. I remember that’s how we got out first pc back in the 90s. Win 95, 500mb hard drive, 32mb of ram all for only 48 easy payments of 9.99. 999999.999… … 9
Sorry if this was posted back in April but I dont remember seeing it and it has very little views online so thought might be worth posting.
Seems to be from the PlayStation event when they announced VR.
It includes raw footage of people playing with NMS PSVR and you get to see their movement parroted on screen and a nice idea of how slingshot/teleportion movement works with the Move Controllers.
Hoping they add some way to do direct mohvement and use the move controls, I know other games have but it’s very unintuitive.
I’ll still be using the DS4 controller primarily to traverse but I’ll have the move controllers holstered nearby for driving/flying/hugging travellers/etc
@sheralmyst That mam said horrible the same way every mam with a thick dublin accent says horrible, I had to keep watching just to see if they were (they weren’t). I was thinking, wow, not only is it an appropriate video but you catered it to my culture but, I think they’re either north of england, if not maybe welsh or maybe scottish… Too much laughing and not enough full sentences to really tell haha.
Always good to see Kyle Culver recieve much deserved praise from HG/Sean, which reminds me, It’s been a while since @Simran_Dhillon has gifted us with one of his paintings (random shout out to an island dweller while I’m feeling all irish and patriotic for some reason, possibly cos that lovely beardy man from waterford making our dreams come true)
Oh just a little something we had assumed from the trailer but noticed it put in to words in the gamesradar article —> “brand new alien races to discover” Notice its pluralised
