Cannot wait to see how photo mode works in VR  I suspect a lot of motion sickness as Yr brain adjusts to weightless flight but Yr bodies like, “we’re still sitting down man, wtf is happening up there brain? Get Yr shit together!”

Maybe we have a little camera to hold up and look through - Snap! Then you send it off to get developed. A week later you get your photos back

This major milestone is exactly why we needed Version 2.0!

… Maybe there will be a milestone for sitting in as many chairs as you can find in every space station throughout the universe lol

One of the things that I’m wondering about is this: If all the cool shops, etc., are going to be in the Nexus, will our weapons be made to be inactive there (like in all other buildings)? As a non-pvp-er I am hoping that those like me will feel safe to go to the Nexus.

I’m expecting that HG has that covered, but it would be nice to have it spelled out.

Yes. They compared it to Destiny’s Tower. In the Tower, the game turns off all weapons/abilities so people can just chill, purchade things, chat, form groups, accept missions, etc. Social spaces in most games are like that with a few MMORPG exceptions.

NMS multitools don’t work inside structures including the in-space structures. I highly doubt that will change after BEYOND.

Cool. Thanks! I never played Destiny’s Tower, so good to know. <3

I don’t know of any other game where the assets are scrutinized so! lol

Virtual reality is going to be sick!!
I still can’t realise, after so many free updates and this last Beyond trailer, that this one will throw us inside the sim…litterally.
Exploring a cave, hearing some creature noises in the night !!! Feeeeaar!!! This VR thing will be a total game changer

Travelers, place your bets. It’s race time at the CrabTrak!

And in Euclid, get ready for No Man’s Rodeo. Be there or be square.

Side note: the people who keep referring to “milking aliens” has me ROFL. Just don’t try that on a Vy’Keen!

Ok. Had some time to review all of this.
From the video interview, do I understand correctly…?
MP play online, as is usual for me, when I want to MP, summon the Nexus. Enter, boom, full of people. Choose missions and have random people join my game or invite friends.
Simple. Neat. I like it.
Otherwise, I just play NMS online as usual and have a chance of running across random players as is already the case, and rarely happens.

I am BEYOND excited (ugh I couldn’t help myself) for this new update. I think we all did a pretty good job at predicting these additions, particularly the nexus. Since you can summon an entry point into the Nexus I am curious to see how joining a party translates. I imagine it is almost like Dr. Strange, in that when you join a party, whoever is host will deem the exit point of the portal. It is a smart move as lore wise it makes sense. A portal ship that links different areas, I wonder if this is an evolved Anomaly of Nada & Polo or a different thing all together. I have been DREAMING of logic and added mechanics and cannot wait to dive into all the new features. I imagine so much can be done now and we don’t even know the half of the new features to be added. I really apprecaite that it is more unified. Although I don’t like griefers its exciting to imagine stumbling on planets with inhabitants. Ah I could write a book about all I’m excited for. WHat baffles me even more is it will all be possible in VR as well. Good day Citizens

Another observation; since cross-play is not happening , then the boundaries that are coming down are indeed the boundaries between Galaxies. This fits the new galaxy maps (plural). I am assuming this is correct.
This is also makes me very happy. I am hoping that we can also choose which galaxy we want to travel to.
Someone pointed out that it seems one of the Freighters is moving in the video…if this is true then this may mean we have a new drive on the Freighter that allows for galaxy jumping.

As for the Nexus in offline mode, I wonder if a player can still summon it. Even though actual players will not be present, we do have new NPC’s that we can meet randomly in the game so it could be inhabited by them. That would make the experience work without being a true MP experience.
