Making mountains out of mashed potatoes. Filling the house with dirt. Every kids dream. What’s not to love?
Haha pretty much! I just didn’t remember the mash patatoes moutain in the middle of the living room ![]()
About to watch it now. Will report back…
10.30 pm and back in my recliner.
It was fun. I enjoyed it. I laughed. I did not cry. I was willing to suspend reality for it.
There were only 5 people in the room. Me and the only other woman chatted afterwards. She asked if I read the book. I hadn’t. She said the movie was good but the book is better.
Maybe not a glowing review but it’s all I’ve got.
I will read the book. I doubt I buy the movie.
Just saw the new film written and directed by John Carney. Power ballad.
Very enjoyable movie and my dad absolutely enjoyed it so definitely a safe choice for people of all ages and generations.
The irish guy who had his song stolen by Robbie Williams was clearly the catalyst for this movies story, aboimut a former boy band member who takes some songs from a struggling musician during a trip to Ireland, but it very much makes the story its own so as not to land in any legal hot water.
Highly reccomended if you enjoyed John Carneys previous films like Once or Sing Street.
My city features heavily in it so was an absolute treat to see, from Crumlin to LA ![]()
