Meme of the day

My dads weird about socks too. Maybe its a generational thing? I dont hear many people my age talk about difficulty with socks. Or maybe its an unspoken social thing I’ve not picked up on but is very much there at all times?

I dont even bother matching mine. Odd socks will do me fine. If I pick out two that match, well thats just a lucky start to the day  and more time for non sock-pairing activities.

Its strange because I built a NMS base two years ago that is a sock matching station as a memory I had of my Aunt and Mam… so its in my blood… yet I seek out the odd pairs. Which makes sense because as sisters, they certainly were.

Rightfully stolen from the NMS discord:

Ooh, can this be a meme too?

I actually think the “Swedish Spring” meme is very funny, and I’m a bit nonplussed that the Washington Post woman doesn’t - makes me wonder if she understands humour.

The one about the Apple Stylus is lost on me, but I’ve never owned an Apple product, and I know nothing about them.

I’m also a bit confused. The swedish spring joke seems charming, I had to smirk, and it’s not meaningless. We tended to have quite a lot of absurd and dadaistic jokes when I was a kid, but I don’t hear them around nowadays. Also not sure if they were just a swiss thing.

I do still remember, my favourite one was (rough translation): “Two camels sit in the cellar, splitting heating oil. Suddenly, a refridgerator flies by. One camel says to the other: ‘The things you see these days…’”

It’s all lost on me. Americans no longer have a sense of humor.

The meme is, you can buy xyz for x money, but this other thing/event/feeling is priceless.

An Apple stylus is a ridiculously expensive digital pen that digital artists use on a tablet/ipad instead of your fingers. Of course Apple doesn’t want to support the cheaper ones.
I saw an experiment how these pens work, you can simulate it with a wooden chopstick, some tin foil (I call it alu), and the tip needs cotton or something that can soak up a drop of water. If you don’t mind having to dip it in a drop of water every now and then, then a 5 cent stick does the trick…

The Apple Pencils are overpriced, but to be fair, they have more useful features than a foil stick, like pressure and tilt sensitivity.

I think their bigger scam is that they restrict the different Pencil versions to different hardware. So if you buy a new tablet, your old Pencil may not work with it. Or if you just wanted the newer improved Pencil, sorry you probably need to buy a whole new tablet.
