And warp into the sytem with your living ship. I have a feeling that if you use a regular ship then switch when in the system, there maybe a bug. i donāt seem to find eggs if i do that but I need to get confirmation that it isnāt just me.
Thanks for the āwarp inā suggestion. My main normal mode base is in an uncharted green system, but I would have used my base portal to get there. Either way I will have the living ship as my primary (since its the one thing I need to complete.) Can the living ships warp to colored stars?
Perhaps I should test teleporting and lifting off in an uncharted system with the living ship?
Did the Uncharted System Pulse & Reload thing, (as described previously) & managed to get a heathy mixed bag of space egg modules for my permadeath save.
Each was just 10 seconds of pulse to find.
Main point I noted was: Immediately after acquiring said egg, call in your freighter & establish a restore point to reload from.
Once you disturb the āgood luckā, it may take several tries to get the sweetspot in the pattern again.
Mrs Mad-Hatter has fired up her long abandoned Legacy Save, (nothing since BEYOND ), All the bases are unpowered & dead.
But she wants a Living Ship of her own, (donāt we all), so itās off on a co-ordinate hunting adventure she goes. First planet was a storm ridden, hostile sentinel world .
This is going to be fun to watch
My first planet is an extreme low pressure environment with ok sentinels but lots of aggressive fauna. Iām back to my home planet to finally finish the exocraft missions. I hope this will make it easier.
When I was flying to the coordinates and the storm kicked in I was not able to see which part was up or down. So I crashed into the scenery a lot.
Worse, now I remember I forgot to put a beacon.
You spend three days travelling 17 systems to gather rare ingredients - and then you realise you canāt find your way back to do the job you wanted them for!
I wrote a suggestion to HG a long while ago for a travel log that just tracks in which star systems and on which planets weāve been.
Optimally with links to Discoveries and screenshots. Optimally searchable and sortable (by last-visited or discovered date and type resource etc.)
I can survive a black hole and carry more materials in my pocket than a hauler, but I canāt log where Iāve been?
Satisfied with my storage augmentation harvesting, I finally got back to finishing the living ship quest and started hunting for a ship. I really want some specific features to make it fit in nicely with the rest of my fleet. So, Iāve been hatching the egg, flying to its location, and reloading the pre-hatch save if itās not what Iām looking for. Well after a dozen or so times, this happened:
Additional reloads just kept spawning normal crashed ships that apparently the game thought were alive. In hindsight I should have selected ābegin biogenesisā just to see what happens! It took a quit to desktop & re-run to fix.
I upgraded living ship (3x s rank upgrades per tech type) and Compared to my āoverā upgraded fighter ( 6x s rank nanite purchased upgrades and all buildable upgrade) in the pics below.
Hopefully I can find more upgrades for the livingship to completely max it out.
About done mines fully, apart from adding 3 launch modules. Cool ships but not particularly good at anything right now. Wont keep me out of my exotics or fighter for too long.
Iāve been enjoying myself, pulsing around new systems, collecting upgrades, making new discoveries, and seeing the new sights. Itās an amusing pursuit in its own right.
Of course, eventually it begins to pale. After a few days, almost everything you find is a repeat of stuff youāve found before. And I thought that was a bit sad.
Then I thought āHold on - a few days? Thatās more than some whole games have given meā. And it is. This almost throwaway free upgrade has held my interest and kept me entertained more than some complete premium games did.
