I’ve had this happen to me. There is a solution, but it’s far from obvious.
Try this:
(edit 2 - left out information) You’ll generally find that this problem only affects certain container slots. Most will work OK, but a few get bugged somehow. Don’t despair - it can be fixed.
In the vicinity of your storage containers, open your inventory (not the container inventory - your suit inventory)
Now hover your cursor over an empty slot, and press X
This should open a box that includes ALL your inventory items, including the ones in your storage containers. Because you’re transferring to your suit, you can only move 250 at a time, but you can rinse and repeat on a new empty suit slot.
You may have to scroll down a long way to find the stuff you want in the containers.
(edit - left out a step) When you find the materials you couldn’t transfer directly from the container, left mouse click on them. 250 (or 5) will be transferred to your suit.
Now move to a new empty suit slot, and do the same again.
Once you’ve emptied the container slot, the bug disappears - but only for that slot. You have to do it for all bugged slots.
When you’ve completed emptying all the bugged slots - problem solved.
Also same as Mad Dash hatter and lordmarkov, feel free to add me on PSN —> ChristianHour (it’s an old dumb name, and not the religious christian, but the person, chris.)
When I go to use a portal this is what I get…
It tells me to charge the glyphs (even on opened portals) and then gives me this screen which has zero interaction. I’m effectively locked out of portals now.
Tried reloading and restarting PS4. Nothing.
It’s like the portals have been deactivated in my game.
Is this another game breaking bug?
EDIT @sheralmyst you mentioned this fault once…what did you do to fix it?
Yeah, that was the portal on my base planet. It never did work. I had to find another portal and move. I did not have a problem with other portals, just the one. Sorry, I don’t have a better answer.
I have no idea how to fix this, since have never run into this on PC.
But from what Zsigmond and Sheralmyst are saying, I would try to blackhole and jump around to fix it.
I ran into the same issue back in October last year, you can read about my findings and replies after here: V1.38 Bug reporting - #411 by DevilinPixy. This issue does not only affect portals, but anything that uses the same mechanic (charge/repair). This includes Hydrophonic Trays, Crashed Freighter Containers, Autonomous Mining Units, Atmospheric Harvesters and alike.
At the time I was not the only one who ran into this issue, there had been multiple reports. The issue has never been fixed. After some extensive research I had done, I concluded it to be caused by an issue with the save system. I could only fix it by rolling back about 50 hours of game play, which I never did. @zsigmond back then, gave me some hope of this possibly getting fixed by itself. Rolling back is still no guarantee either, as the issue may introduce itself again at some point. Starting fresh is another option, but similarly no guarantee.
For me it ruined the fun back then, and in all honesty, I never continued to play as much anymore. I have yet to go to a next Galaxy, which may fix it, but is quite a choice to make. It would make sense to possibly get fixed that way, as it allows for your save to be cleaned up quite a bit.
A true game breaker in my opinion. Never got a reply after sending in several reports of my findings. This honestly needs to be fixed and I truly hope it will be with the next update. It will likely not fix my current save, but I am willing to start fresh again, being assured to not run into this again.
yes, @DevilinPixy it was a game breaker. But I have my path to the “true” center.
I have not run into the same problem for sometime.
Also, if you activate a portal, never go back to that part of the portal.
I believe HG has understood the situation but has not issued a fix for whatever reason.
I just would like Hello Games to say something to let us know they are alive and well.
TO know for sure EMILY hasn’t taken over completely and someone there can put the plug on her.
