Been thinking of finally going back to fallout 4 and finishing the main story… Or maybe I’ll just revisit new Vegas. I keep brushing the thought aside.

Clearing out some stuff from the house, have a skip out front. Came across this in the attic…

Okay, okay, I’ll go install fallout 4 again jeeeez.

Edit: finally got to talk to my dad. He bought this in 1968 when he was fifteen in a shop called Thuthills. The shop is still there too <3

I replayed F4 on PC just so I could use the scrap everything mod. Finally got to clean up all the garbage. Bonus: you get tons of building supplies.

Who played it?

:raised_hand:

And sorry for this but I have been a Nancy Drew fan since the 5th grade.

The update for Fallout 4 is released and free to everyone already owning the game. And just as with NMS,if you have the PS4 version, but own a PS5, you can upgrade to the PS5 version.
If you have a disc, it is easy peasy.
If you have a digital version, you will need to be logged in under the same account you had on the PS4.
PS5 file 56 GB

Ohhh. Very cool. I’ve been away from Concord for far to long. Better go have me a peek.

Looks better and a handful of new missions. New clothes and few more things.
I will post some screens later, provided last night’s storms and power outage did not fry everything…
First thing I noticed was better lighting especially light coming thru the roof of my house in Sanctuary. And shadows from ceiling fans spinning in the breeze. I don’t remember them spinning before.
I also played thru a couple of missions where I encountered turrets in places I do not remember them being in before…could be faulty memory…

Wait, the switch has been going for almost 10 years now? It felt way shorter than that. Is somebody stealing my years? Who of you bastards is stealing my years?

I had the same feeling. Must be a new pandemic.

I think because of Covid we should mentally subtract 2-4 years when timelines and projections fall across 2020. It was such a void it’s made 10 years feel like 5 in retrospect but also somehow 15 during it.

Played this game a year ago when it went into early access, being made by one person more or less, leaves early access and goes to console sometime in 2024 (I think towards the end of the year).

Whats happened with the game in the year since I last played it? Well, a heck of a lot for an EarlyAccess game being made by one person. It’s had several big content updates and even added achievements.

The gameplay loop is now packed full of variety and flavour and the immersion is still unmatched, really hit that one running out of the gate but it’s been multiplied by the addition of new case types and more interactions and crossover between NPCs and data-points.

Currently trying to solve a murder case and it looks like I have a serial killer on my hands so I hope I solve this quick, each day a new body turns up and all in the same building (so theres SOMETHING to go off).

Victim one was shot by a long range rifle, no sign of balistics in the building or a trace of fingerprints other than the victims… I should have went with my original hunch of shooter from another building, but at the time I didn’t know which building to even look for.

I checked around the victims workplace for any leads but it was late, the place was closed and someone tried to mug me while I searched for a way in… rough neighbourhood.

Second victim ended up being the first victims neighbour, the very one who found the first victims body. After scoping out the second victims apartment and the first again, i came across some diaries as well as emails exhanged between the two.

Seems both were reporting feelings of being followed. Victim one described a woman with ginger hair. Victim two described a tall woman. Definitely a new lead to follow, will have to check street CCTV.

There are three apartments on the floor and I met neighbour number three. They were stocky, ginger and female… I broke in to their apartment to see if I could find any trace of a murder weapon.

The second victim had been shot, same as the first. I could not find bullet holes in the second apartment like the first, but both were in view of a single building… again no fingerprints other than the victims.

Am I dealing with a long range shooter? There are two tall buildings… I checked the 14th floor on both… Could be a floor up or down or even the roof but I’m running out of time, I’m hungry and I need a shower… The Enforcers guarding the crime scene keep smelling me as I sneak through the ducts…

I had home. Take a shower. Get some sleep…

A third victim is reported. The floor above the last two… Same as before, another shooting… Even more confusing is they own a rifle matching the calibre of the gunshots, and they have a missing partner I need to find and question going off the lease I found in the wardrobe…

Red herrings or did a spouse find out their partner was involved in the killings and became victim 3?

Either way I am going to the building that all 3 apartments are in view of and knocking on every door hoping a tall ginger woman answers because this is all I have to go on XD

THIS GAME IS GREAT YOU BUY IS GOOD!!!

I really need to clean up my Charlie Board…

Holy smokes it actually worked

I went to the top floor (17th) of the building I suspected they may be sniping from; a tall red haired woman answered the door to the 16th floor penthouse '

I snuck in through the vents after they’d left for work and found a list of “local residents” who had mild social transgressions (rude in queue, messy or unkempt appearances etc), a rifle perched by a window and a helpful post-it note on the fridge saying “they will all pay”.

I think I got all I needed. Waited for them to return home and cuffed em.

I’m more concerned by their partner who was asleep in the bedroom while I was sleuthing. Apparently their partner leaving a hit list by a gun and a worrying note on the frackin fridge of all places wasn’t enough to make you think, “hey maybe I should talk to someone about that…”

Some people can do increidble things with denial.

I’d hardly call hiding in a penthouse suite in a private building with a high powered scoped rifle “power” but you do you Cloe, you spell your name without a ‘h’ all you want.

Interesting. Myst does seem a bit misplaced in this list. All other games in that list either spawned or fundamentally defined their genres. Myst always seemed to have been a niche point-and-click adventure game to me that did find a cult following, but not many immitators. Maybe it’s just because I’m not that much into point-and-click adventure games (anymore).

Considering to give Riven another run before the remake release. Could go PC or PS1, but I think I actually prefer the latter. Will certainly not be anywhere close to the WR video YT suggested me. Not sure what to think of that actually, just insane. Feel free to teach me the disc swapping, but I’m fine otherwise

Now that is a speed run… So funny they had to wait for Ghen’s silence to end.
And oh yes, disc swapping…I still have my original copy (ies)

I don’t get what I’m seeing here. I know what a speedrun is (learning the solution by heart and skipping everything else), and I know Riven. Is this some sort of hacked version where all transitions take 0 sec and the navigation is by keyboard instead of mouse clicks?
