Smugggling 101

  1. Have two ships.
  2. Place contraband aboard ship “B”
  3. Board ship “A”
  4. Travel to smuggling destination.
  5. Summon ship “B”
  6. Take contraband, drop it in the slot.

Never get caught with the goods in your possession.

Well that’s a bit better than the starter ship Omega gave me…

Woo, I’m so happy you get to play through the Expeditions from earlier in the year now  Was it just Omega and Adrift you missed?

Good tip on the smuggling trick. I’m dreading getting the attention of the pirates or the sentinels in my permadeath playthrough. I haven’t left the second system I entered yet, I may just have to pick up a second ship before I do just that

Second sentiel ship. Outwardly, very similar to the first.

It’s taken me 18 attempts at shooting the inverted mirror guys, before I finally got an echo locator. I had already found two sentinel ships, just by searching from my ship, long before I could find a harmonic camp.

Alright. I visited my harmonic camp. Now when you unlock the computer at a harmonic camp, it gives you an option “locate dissonance spikes” - and this leads you to a crashed sentinel ship, which you can salvage.

Except, in this case, it didn’t. In this case, it led me to a sentinel control pillar.

And at the control pillar, was a Class S Royal Multitool. It needs some expensive repairs, but still…

I built a little base there, and uploaded it. If it shows up in your list of other player’s bases, you should be able to travel there. I haven’t bothered with a teleport - but the system has a space station, so you can’t get stuck.

The base is called “Class S Multitool” - look for it in your teleporter list.

Here’s a question -

I know we can take a normal game multitool into an expedition -

But can we take a multitool we found in the expedition back into our normal game?

I believe the answer is yes, as long as it is the MT you have equipped when you end the expedition.

On the other hand, let me present the Interstellar Zamboni.

Yes you can.
You need to clone it the same way you can do with a ship… with a pocket full of nanites after you complete the expedition.

Another question, folks:

After Omega, does the Atlas staff become available from the anomaly quicksilver vendor in my normal game? I’d like to keep it, but I’d also like to keep my Royal multitool, and as far as I can see, I can only bring one of them through.

Yup, it’s an Expedition reward so you can reclaim it at any point, even in future expeditions

I’ve seen the creature on the right a few times, but I’ve never come across the guy on the left before.

These are the funniest additions to the game to date. I like them but who dreamed this up? Is there a sci-fi reference I am missing?

I haven’t seen one of these for a long time.
