All along, I’ve said I doubted that another huge reset will occur… yet slowly, I’m turning to think there will indeed be another reset.
I think something big, this way comes.
Here we go!
Remember we were wondering what could be coming next that we still didn’t do?@Polyphemus, well here we are!
What scares me the most is that we are talking about “memories” and “to visit planets and galaxies we like”. Atlas Rises is mentionned aswell. And since we know that for A&S every word is important, I fear a major reset. Some kind of tribute to the last extension.
I am just wondering about how could it be even possible to add so much content (A.R extension was huge, and needed a reset) without reseting everything once again.
Time will tell of course.
After 1 year my only goal was to find a system that had a perfect harmony, (I was pretty looking for a system that could contain a blue sky, at least 1 paradisiac planet, an Ice Planet, and a toxic planet from any kind). After a year of jump/scan planets/jump/scan planets, I found even better.
Blue sky, 2 paradisiac planets and one having a moon, a huge frost planet and a toxic one, everything was finally reunited on the same spot. I can tell you that it was the most difficult challenge I had to face finding something in a video game, ever.
I will feed the huge creatures that lives upon my planet, continue to explore the underground caves and find other nice views and lakes before it gets transformed into something completely different.
Time will tell of course.
One thing is for sure, No Man’s Sky is made to explore, to keep discovering things, planets, species, bases etc and never stop, you guys know that.
I am a 100% ready to give away my home planet and discoveries in exange of “Next”.
100% percent ready (if reset is) to find that perfect system once again into “Next”, and this time, I will not be alone.
I’m not sure you have enough Warp Cells
I play NMS as a form of relaxation. I don’t have a base, I don’t farm, I don’t have Gazillions of credits or nanites. The game for me is like relaxation therapy…refuge from a stressful life. I’ve been exploring the outer fringe of the Euclid galaxy…where most planets are “boring”. But I am willing to “come in from the cold” outer areas to any Hub that is designated. Just need the coords.

The universe will always reset when something new is introduced regarding biomes etc. We’re getting ringed planets for example, this will be a disruptive update, planets will change. It may not be as disruptive as 1.3 but at least star locations and names will remain. I always just view it as an acceleration of the simulations timeline by a few billion years
I always miss this stuff when it’s happening.
I haven’t read through everything yet (I have inbox mail too ) but I’m in ETARC hub on ps4 normal and I think I’ll be submitting some coords from there
Everyone, relax.
Honestly, ladies and gentlemen, there isn’t any sign or word of a reset other than assumptions based on one past reset from a year ago and an email asking for coordinates.
The last reset was to prevent a future reset.
To explain what they did with the games’ programming on the last reset using a simple example:
Image a toy spaceship made of metal. To add features to it, you have to cut and weld new pieces to it. But what HG likely did was get rid of the spaceship all together and replace it with a Lego version of the spaceship with open slots so adding things would be plug-n-play for them and resets wont be necessary. Ofcourse, this means that they can still change the way your planet looks, but if they did this correctly, the layout of the land will remain the same and only the flora and wildlife may change.
Rings around a planet wouldn’t need a reset either. If anything, the space stations may need to be relocated but I don’t think many people will complain about that one.
HG has used images taken by players on their website and tweets before, so judging by their past use of player images, they may use the images from the email for perhaps before-and-after images to show larger plants or something or just images for the website or twitter.
Clearly, the coordinates to the HUBs are their main focus as the email actually asks for a return email on those and they even ask for a possible “mission statement” so this inquiry can likely mean that they intend to do something there at the HUB for the players who are fans of the game. Doesn’t seem like they want to remove or reset anything but rather it seems they want to place something there that has the HUB’s mission statement on it. Maybe a plaque or a statue. Maybe they will place a city at the HUBs as a social space.
I don’t remember them saying anywhere that they wouldn’t do any more resets…in fact people were saying the exact same thing as what you’re saying now before the last update…“there won’t be any more resets because the last was to ensure it would never happen again”…but I seriously doubt they can add planet types that don’t exist without a universe reset…and we know for a fact that ringed worlds are coming and most likely gas giants too…so my advice to everyone is: prepare for a reset because it looks extremely likely.
I think the problem is in the terminology - when I read reset it means to me that everything goes away - units, ships, everything. Re-seed is what I think could happen, which may change your planet type but that’s about it.
Yes, the term reset can be a bit confusing to someone who may not know what we’re talking about and how these resets have worked in the past.
It is simply the NEXT Iteration…like New Game +
Is anyone else getting this? I’ve tried to upload a planet for a bit on both my phone and computer.
Edit: Formatting
Same…getting an error every time I try to submit…has anyone managed to successfully submit anything so far?
I submitted yesterday.
And it accepted? It showed you some sort of submission accepted screen?
Yes it was accepted, there have been a bunch of people on Discord having the same issue. Maybe they just have a server problem, I don’t think they would stop it this soon.
Edit for clarity
Are you on a mobile device when trying to submit?
Any common denominator on Discord? Possibly mobile, or have there been reports from desktop/PC as well?
No, I’m on a personal laptop…tried using Firefox and Chrome to submit but I don’t think the web-browser is the issue.
Ok, thank you for that info. I will see if I can pass on the info to hopefully get this fixed.
Nope, I saw mobile and pc both with the same issue.
