Itâs the week before the Prom and no one has invited me.
ummâŠwellâŠthat sucksâŠGuess itâs time to pull up the straps and ask someoneâŠTake charge!
I canât play any more until the flashing trees are fixed. When I get into my ship, all plants start flickering. It stops as soon as I get out of my ship.
Flashing trees? Hopefully a patch for indecent exposure is enforced soon. Are you able to see if the flashy trees follow you across platforms on the same save? Hope it gets sorted out soon, sounds like a lot of new shader issues introduced across this update with those switch silhouettes you were showing off too.
Oh, actually, maybe clearing your shader cache (if the flashy trees are on PC) and booting the game up to let them recompile might fix it, could just be a weird clash with parts of the cache not getting the memo from the new update. Also double check those GPU drivers have the latest update
I donât have a shader cache to clear any more. Vulkan and allâŠif I remember correctly.
I will try PS5 later.
I had a sensory overload kind of day.
Chillinâ in the snow in The Long Dark right now.
While using salvage data to purchase the new base parts on the nexus, I decITEMRECIEVEDed that I would switch Telamon to the new masucline variant.
I was expecting it to be just a simple down pitch of the existing telamon voice files but theyâre entirely new recordings (I think? some time warping/cuts could have been done maybe?) with different timing to what weâre all familiar with. Less of a pause between âitemâ and ârecievedâ.
I might just stick it on for a bit more and see if they veer much from what was laid down originally.
The trees seem to be fixed in the exp patch I just got
I zendesked 3 times today.
1 down
âŠit was fun while it lastedâŠnow the sky is flickering and it makes no difference where I amâŠ
Steam can still cache Vulkan shaders. NMSâ will be in Steam\steamapps\shadercache\275850
Yeah, not sure why thatâs done when pre-compiled versions are already included in the gameâŠ
I am not alone in these issues. Lots of people experiencing it.
Looked in the shader cache. Not much there. In the past, there could be hundreds of files there. I have 6 right now.
I believe yesterdayâs exp patch just flipped the scenario. HG will work it out, Iâm sure.
Finally had a bit of time to try out the BEACON update.
Powered up my old Pirate Save (renamed to âTest Pilotâ) to try things out.
Almost immediately, was prompted into the new features. No problems, although the settlement seems to only have one inhabitant at present. Much like @toddumptious reported, I too was sent to an Australia level extreme heat planet but decided to stay & not risk messing something up.
Did the first couple (of what I presume are many,) upgrades.
Spent the rest of my session collecting Buried Technology to acquire the new building bits. I quite like the water-tank rooftops. Built a small nitrogen base with the new parts & will return next session to see what else the Autophage Settlement needs.
No crashes. No bugs. Pretty plain sailing on the PS5 but Iâm still not game enough to try my Legacy Save yet.
I do have a Permadeath save I could stupidly try thoughâŠ
I started up my PS5 save and have not gotten the autophage request yet.
Only spent a few minutes on Switch 2. My daughter had to run the Mario Cart circuitâŠI think she was dumbfounded that I beat her several times.
Momâs stiff thumbs still work well enough.
(Couldnât try the update yet, computer trouble needs fixing first)
I havenât been able to play enough to even take a look at the new building parts.
Thankfully Switch 2 now uploads screenshots to the app same as Xbox and PSâŠfinally
@toddumptious , doesnât the male vocalisation sound just like a Borg?
Definitely way better on Switch2 than 1
Just to clarify, I did not stay in Australia. Nothing personal
I accepted and quit my station immediately after doing the invitation quest sequence, just in case searching for a different one first got me locked in a limbo state. After accepting the job, the invitation quest line disappeared and I quit, bought a Autophage Settlement chart and went to a certain Titan planet with no water and a lotta ruins
No buggy issues on ps5 either but I am still fully submerged in Dwarf Fortress to properly try(almost made my fort a mountainhome, then its full-time NMS)
I got a new visitor seeking citizenship, so I welcomed them aboard.
I was curious if theyâd now be wandering my town so I set out to look for them, realising it was probably going to be a difficult task. They do like to wander aimlessly, and settlements can get you turned around really quick but I gave it a shot anyway.
I found one of their work colleagues, actually bumped into them a few times. Also kept meeting the same patrol guard wandering at night, so there is some method to their madness, though they may not always be on script.
Unfortunately they werenât with this bunch of guys either.
It was a nice way to kill twenty minutes while I waited for a building to complete anyway. Iâll remember the name and when we cross paths Iâll be sure to return here with the good news.
Has anyone noticed the mortality count on the new settlement history screen? It seems the expeditions we send them on can fail and you can lose citizens this way. I wonder if they can also be fataly wounded during sentinel attacks?
I do find them more suspicious sometimes, but maybe Iâm discovering I have trust issues with men
One of my guys says he never runs in panicâŠwaiting for a sentinel attack to find out
Also, being able to change the output is helpful. I currently need Radon to make some Enriched Carbon for Organic Catalysts to upgrade one of the buildings so this works well.
any idea how to get the blueprint for Superconducting Fibre? I do not seem to have itâŠ
Uh oh. Hide that from Trump⊠Heâll call them an illegal alien!
Know the highest bid in Bridge?..
4 No Trump. Even card players have a clue.
You canât make it. Itâs a trade commodity. You buy it from the space station trade terminals in systems with three-star advanced materials economies (one and two star economies may have it - three star economies are guaranteed to).
If you set your map filter to âeconomyâ, advanced materials systems are the purple ones.
You need to make a shopping trip.
This is how they decide to use all those obscure materials I have sold over the years. Now I am scrambling to find out what the heck they are and where they come from
Edit: just scrapped 2 ships for mission to gain motesâŠnow I am afraid to sell anything.
We really are going to need more storage
Hey now, some of trumps former best friends are illegal aliens
@sheralmyst When they do give us more, They should call it the More-age update. The Sean Murrage update?
