Hi friends,
I’m finally going to be holding a gallery exhibition for TravelEcho’s (Jann Rowe) creative work. It’s been a long time coming, but I finally finished the remembrance sculpture dedicated to her, which I wanted to do before holding the exhibition.
So… you’re invited! I know it’s unlikely that folks from here would be able to attend, but if you could, that would be wonderful.
This first link has all the information. Also, it will get you to the memorial website I have created for her, where there are many treasures, including a sampling of her music.
This link gets you to my art website, where you can get a peek at Hearts of Passion - the collaborative sculpture created in her memory. It’s the first one in the video gallery.

What a beautiful thing to do in her memory. I can’t imagine this was an easy thing to will yourself to do and I’m so happy you came and shared it with us.
If I could make it to New York I would be there in a heart beat for Opening Night reception. And not just because there will probably be cheese and wine.
If it isn’t against the gallerys policies, if anyone makes it to new york, a video tour of the exhibit would be greatly appreciated for those of us stuck on other continents
(portrait of james - acryllic, you can see how much she loved you and she could see how much you loved her from this piece, nice to finally sorta meet you
)

Thank you so much @Malveka for sharing this. I wish I could be there. I miss her so much. This is such a beautiful thing for such a beautiful person.
Much love to you and your family.
I have to say, your work is mesmerizing. What a talented team you two got the once in a lifetime chance to be. Truly blessed.

That’s a great idea! I’ll make sure that this happens, one way or another.
@toddumptious What a sweet thing to say. We very much did. There’s a bit of story that goes with that portrait…
I had stayed overnight in a hotel on my way somewhere and Jann was at home. I woke up in the morning and my hair had seemingly defied physics, arranging itself in an Escher-like sculpture overnight. I took a picture and sent it to Jann, remarking “Well, it worked for Einstein.” She replied that she thought it was sweet, and went on to paint this portrait. I like to joke that it disproves the old adage, the one about the sow ear and the silk purse. It seems that sometimes you can. Love is a verb.

@sheralmyst I wish you could be here for it, too. We’ll see what we can do by following up on @toddumptious idea for a video tour and posting it here.
Thank you for the kind words. I’m so grateful for every day we got to spend together. Through sharing her creative work I hope to spread a little of the magic she brought into my life.

I wish you success and many visitors! (Sorry, I won’t be travelling to another continent.)
Didn’t she also have some nice bases in game? We could pick a day and meet up there.

I think that’s a wonderful idea! We could try arrange it for the same day as the Opening reception in July

Thanks for the good wishes! I totally understand about not wanting to travel right now, particularly to certain parts of particular continents. Possibly, as a completely arbitrary example, to the one where I happen to be located.
Lovely idea about meeting up at a base as an alternative! One possibility is the remembrance base I constructed for her. There’s a post about it here:
TravelEcho Remembrance - Endless Night of Stars Base

That would be cool. It would be delightful to think of the two celebrations happening on the same day. On the other hand, it would be a day I definitely couldn’t attend the one happening out amongst the stars. Which I would certainly do on a different day!

Maybe not on the same day as the reception, Malevka would be too busy to hang out online, wouldn’t he?
Well, suggest something that suits you.

Or we could leave our own little works of art as a celebration and he could visit later. Whatever works best for everyone.
This gives us time to gather supplies and come up with ideas.

I love this idea, regardless of when the celebration happens!
And however things work out, I feel very moved that there is excitement here for being part of this remembrance event. Not surprised though - I knew she loved this community for a reason.

Could I just ONCE read ONE poem without the weather forecast interrupting! SIGH
Okay, I am able to find the location. I also have several days off work now.

Build something nearby. I will hopefully be able to pop in over the next few days.
I have a few ideas rolling around in my head…if only I can make them work.
Edit: I have started work on something on a hill not too far away. I plan on being there working on it on the 11th. Hope others can join!

Sheralmyst, I didn’t see your base, does it maybe not sync our modes? (PC, Normal)
I built a cobbled together house under a tree with a view onto Malveka’s poetic portal from a nearby hill, I hope the home owners organisation doesn’t fine me.
It’s mostly finished. I’m not a good builder, things snap (what feels as if) randomly and jut though walls and floors.

I have not uploaded it yet…it should appear even if I am out of sync…it is just me that won’t appear…
Maybe I will be in sync by the 11th.
Edit: uploaded and just a few hills over
Sat down and had some snacks
Took some time to enjoy the sights

Is that meetup still happening? At what time roughly?

I hope I can be on in maybe 4 hours from now so about 2pm cdst.
But, I think I am out of sync again…
Edit: I am in now but fairly certain I am out of sync. Just got another small experimental update.
Will post some pics
May the wind Echo
With swirls of color and love
And return to us
How was the show @Malveka ? I really hope all went well.

I did see your base–Excuse me, rhinobutt!?
I was greeted by a hazardous plant that probably regrew.
First impressions are important:
I notice
illeeegal amounts of advanced building techniques
Good bye until next time:

Hey Travellers - The opening night of the expedition (ok, that was supposed to be exhibition, but I had to leave it in
) went wonderfully! There was a substantial turn out of family and friends and folk wandering in from the street, familiar faces and new.
It was such a moving and gratifying experience to see so many people admiring and exclaiming over TravelEcho’s work. One of my goals was to share a glimpse of the magic of life with such an incredibly creative being. I feel that was a success.
I even managed to give a brief talk and share some of her poetry with a modicum of grace.
I have a video tour of the exhibit that I recorded just before the opening. I’ll be sharing that here when I get a bit of time to upload it and link it. I have family from out of town staying with me so I’m continuing to be pretty busy for the moment.
I can’t wait to get in game and have a look at the bases you’ve been working on. What a wonderful tribute!
More soon…
