I had the blue ring too. Said ‘connecting to discovery services’ but never connected
I found all animals on one planet but could not collect my reward
It amazes me to not see anyone understand the meaning of ‘yabli’. Then again, can’t really blame anyone I guess, except for the Greek minded. Doesn’t help being romanised either. It’s been a while, but I was taught classical Greek (as well as Latin) back in my school days.
τον κόσμο του γυαλιού …
γυαλί (yabli, pron. gyalí) = Greek for … exactly!
It’s called ‘weekend’ … hehehe. I know they regularly skip those, especially with busy update times, but well deserved!
Oh thanks for this info, I’d searched for Yabli but just kept getting results for a music artist I think
It was nice to see the issue with discovery services wasn’t fixed until today, it meant they got the weekend off and nobody was made come in on their day off
I’m sure we’ve all worked for or known somebody who worked for that one owner who, despite giving their number to the alarm company, will call you at 4 am to say you have to go there
My first thought was, oh sweet this cave network is big enough to explore with an exocraft.
I wasn’t expecting any of my next thoughts.
I’m surprised you had any next thoughts!
I have seen these narrow slits for caves but never saw one dump anyone back outside.
Do we know when the next Exp starts?
Current one was due to end on the 5th - but it was extended for a week. So probably around the 12th?
Is anyone else experiencing animals being thrown to their death? I have seen several being hurled all the way across my field of view
No but I found some of that killer fog they mentioned. I tried to run away but it made such a pretty beam of light I found myself going in closer
Now that we have The Fog, we just need The Blob. A gelatenous carnivore that surrounds it’s prey and carries it’s carcass inside as it moves on.
Valve showed off something similar to what I’m describing in the episode 3 reveal during the anniversary documentary, something like that preying on herbivores etc would make for an interesting new creature behaviour in No Mans Sky. If they could pull it off in source engine 15 years ago…
It could launch the body out when its done, similar to what you’ve been describing seeing
Yes! Its so weird. One moment im feeding a creature, the next thing I know, it launches into space like a bullet.
I thought, wow! That was a really fast bird that just flew by. Then I saw it happen from a distance and saw the poor critter’s body tumbling thru the air. Then I had one land right beside me.
I have to say, it was quite the spectacle.
The planet I am on does not have any of the new foggy storms that chase after you. It does have some really bad winds during short-lived rain storms. But the far-flung creatures do not seem to be connected to the weather. It has been calm each time it has happened.
Something I hope they add soon is ability to add a base to favourites from within the base via base computer or quick menu, similar to how you report a base.
There are two bases in the final RV point I’d like to add to my favourites, however they do not show up in the list of nearby bases when accessing a TP so I could not actually add them to my favourites.
I’ve saved the address of the planet and will revisit it in a few weeks, it might be quieter then and the base might still be active after expeditions end, it might have a better time of showing up in the nearby bases TP pool by then.
I’ve yet to find a purple system that has a planet with Vile Infestation. I’ve seen one’s with vile brood, but no giant worms or their grubs.
I’m wondering if it’s something you won’t find in a purple system or if I’ve just been unlucky so far.
If anyone’s found a vile infestation planet in a purple system (the big worms and giant ground grubs, not the squishy larva/brood queen boss) please let me know.
If worms are a no go in purple systems, does this mean the Void has beef with the cult of the worm or some connection there? (Or maybe their sorta bugged out with the new terrain gen so for now they’re absent until behaving correctly?)
Edit:
Realised I’ve done all sorts of things with the water displacement except fire directly at it with my strongest multi tool. I decided to go with the scatter blaster due to it’s large spread.
I accidentally recreated the cover art for The Eraser on my first attempt
Here’s a bonus video of me testing the water with plasma grenades and more shotty
Discovery info is definitely off. I just built a new base in a system I found just before the expedition and it says I found it 3 years ago
All my recently named systems keep losing their names in my list as soon as I leave them, something I’ve been noticing the last two weeks.
I keep renaming them just to be sure there isn’t one I forgot to add ECSD to the end of
Frigate damage has resumed.
And the broken parts animate once repaired.
For those who wonder; my Freighter is The Goodship Lollipop and my frigates are named after vintage candy.
I’ve amused myself with naming my various items rather silly names.
Eg: Unsinkable 2.
Bigbadabang.
Mugwump Away.
Junkheap.
Unfortunately, every so often my game forgets the names & I have to come up with something new.
I recently renamed my PIRATE save, TEST PILOT since its fairly established but not particularly precious to me. It’s now my go to for testing after an update or just working random stuff out.
I really don’t have the memory span for more than three long term saves.
I prefer “Big BadaBoom” from 5th Element.
