Weekend Event

So you’re sayin’ the Atlas is drunk and that’s causin’ the abomination? Makes sense to me.

I always think of the Swedish Chef when cooking in No Man’s Sky. Helps me get in the mood :woman_cook:

If you run out of anything needed (sweetened compost in this case), you can go back to the disturbance and pick them up again. My stupid giant ant people kept eating the food and running away before I had a chance to steal their eggs.

We had similar issues…
Had to work out the loop they walked, chuck a bait on that path, bolt in & immediately harvest, then run off again to avoid getting stomped on.
(Mind you, if someone was under me yanking on my ‘eggs’, I’d get a bit stampy too).

On a side note, we had issues with loading in from the portal.
Wrong planet (same mission), no critters.
On PS4: After we turned off multilayer & crossplay, things worked OK.

Nice. I didn’t see a rainbow on my visit. I did see (and scan of course) those weird walker fauna.

I could get them to eat the bait but then they would walk directly on top of me. In VR I couldn’t look up high enough to be able to harvest the eggs. Then they would take off and 2 out of three times they would kick me into the next valley.

I saw that creation. Lol. Took awhile for it to load in everything for me but it was neat. I gave up on the weekend mission though, couldn’t find the specific resource anywhere.

There should be nearby caches marked with Comms. I harvested 2 locations and got all I needed. Of course, it did not help that I have been traversing the Galaxies and forgot to repair all of my tech…

For the first time, I decided to use my Minotaur Mech for a weekend mission.
It’s cumbersome, slow & combat in 1st person was awful. What was I thinking?

I ended up just running about on foot & jet packing like I always do, leaving my mech-suit behind to rust among the ring-growths.

I use the Minotaur a lot in VR. It is terrible in battle but it is great for searching and mining. I’ve upgraded it with all S class parts and its jet pack will trim off an average of 1 minute per jump and it recharges fast. The scanner updates while you fly and knowledge stones are one thing that you can see with it. Just hit the scanner and start jumping, the purple icon will appear when you get close enough. I was on a planet with more stones than average and found the 150ish stones I needed to finish all words in one outing. Storm crystals are another good thing to grab with it, I had a nexus mission for that just now and picked up 14 crystals in less than 5 minutes (1.7M units). And the Minotaur doesn’t slow down underwater. Need rocks or carbon, its beams are great for that (and cheap to refill). It is about the only exocraft that I use anymore, either I walk or use the Minotaur.

Apparently the Weekend Event has become a very popular thing. This was my first attempt at entering the Anomaly, and my second…turned off MP after that. It seems that if all the parking spots are full, you get thrown to the back lot where you are stuck in reverse…forever.

I noticed in the weekend system that “Buried Technology Module” is showed as just “Technology module” and that the ones I run across are floating above-surface. A change?

I also noted that several traveler graves were around. That’s nice for those that still need glyphs.

Lastly, how long have Organic Rocks been luminescent green rock mounds and not a semi-transparent crystalline red with lit objects inside? I like the red crystalline look. Or perhaps do they vary in look and resource depending on the type biome? I’d never seen these green rocks.

These cute little buggers were all over the place …

Some had yellow “Rockwartz” …

Herds of these little critters were kind of cute too!

I’ve seen both types of Organic Rocks recently, so they’re both still in the game. Don’t know if it’s planet or biome based.

Edit: Just looked it up, it is biome based: 'Organic' Rock - No Man's Sky Wiki
