To Those We Have Lost

Definitely more of a showman than a singer, he lived way longer than anyone would ever have predicted. Maybe he knew something about bats we don’t…

Bad week for the world of rock. :face_exhaling:

There was a time in the late sixties and early seventies when both bands and audiences had integrity. The bands wrote, arranged, played and performed their own material. Audiences appreciated their talent and skill, and were not satisfied with machine manufactured pap.

Those musicians (at least, the ones who survived), are now in their seventies and eighties - and they’re dying in increasing numbers. Sad, but inevitable.

Not to overshadow the huge losses to the music community this week (and certainly not here to talk about a defamed wrestler) this didn’t feel right for science news or laugh out of life

Certainly not an astronaut, just a different kind of man with a different kind of shuttle.

I just found out he passed two weeks ago, have a very early memory of his van because it looked like a rocket ship, I can’t remember where we were even but it certainly put my local ice cream man’s bog standard van to shame

I don’t know, I’ve never seen wind sweeping hair like that…

It’s a special wind. It blows from North Africa, across the coast of Southern France. It’s called the “Marcel Wave”.

No, Mrs Bucket….umm, Bouquet.

My mam absolutely adored this show because she was very much like Ms Bucket, far too posh well beyond her station XD

She used to answer the phone as “Bouquet residence!” for a good few months after it began airing.

I first heard this guy playing live as the musical guest on a weekly live show I watch every Thursday.

I had been listening to his second album released earlier in the year and really enjoying it.

What I didn’t know until very recently was that it was posthumous and he passed in early 2024 (living with physical disabilities but shocked he has gone so soon).

It was actually during the same live show that his name was brought up and the host said rest in peace.

I hope he lives forever more through his music and I hope this makes a fan out of at least one of you.

RIP Cola Boyy, sorry this is so late <\3

I feel like I meant to make this post a few weeks back, or at least post a bunch of tracks into music tastes thread, but searching Cola Boyy brought nothing up, even though I could have sworn I shared one of his tracks back here in 2018ish. Apologies if double posting but it seems it’s a memory of thinking about making the post but I never actually did :hugs:
