RIP EDDIE VAN HALEN.
A huge loss. I grew up with Van Halen and have many memories friends, boyfriends, cruisin’ the parking lots with the speakers thumpin’ … good memories. Awesome guitarist. Nice interview with him about his signature guitar.
I say suddenly because I had no knowledge of his cancer which started 5 years ago.
Two other greats are gone with little said about their health , Neil Pieart of RUSH, and before him, The Lord of the Keyboard, Jon Lord of Deep Purple. And May of 2010, Mr Ronnie James DIO.
I could have found a better video. I didn’t watch it all before I posted.
Another great one is gone
And now I’ll mention the passing of ALEX TREBEK. Enough shows were prerecorded to continue JEPORDY through December.
Worked up until a few days before he died. Seems incredible because pancreatic cancer is so painful.
I don’t really pay much attention to Royal stories, but some of the archive footage of his early achievements and falling in love with Elizabeth made me think of him quite differently. There was much I didn’t know about him. Something to be admired is his Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme which is a legacy to be proud of. After such a long marriage it is sad for any woman to lose someone they clearly loved.

All hail the Queen
The Queen is dead, long live the King!
Charles has been waiting a long time for this. I wonder what the future will bring for the UK. Farewell Elizabeth Regina. You were queen for almost my whole life.
It’s hard to see it as tragic or unexpected. She was 96, after all. But she will leave a hole in our national identity.
I am nearly 70, and she’s been there all my life. Not an overt political power, but a constant symbol of steadfast duty, decency, and honest service.
Even those of us who are not particularly monarchist had to admire her, and the values she represented. In a world run by corrupt, twisty politicians, and crooked, grasping, businessmen, she set an example of something finer.
Sadly, I don’t think Charles can live up to her legacy. I think it’s the end of an era.
Watched all 7 hours of the Queen’s funeral coverage . The bagpipes slowly fading away as the casket was lowered below the floor…I had to burst into tears. That was so moving
