In case no one hears much from me: I stated in an earlier thread, somewhere…that my daughter has pneumonia. She does not. It was discovered that she has a heart murmur. Now we are in a bigger, more specialized hospital. At some point and in some way, she had a bacteria enter her bloodstream. It decided to set up shop in one of her heart valves. They are killing the bacteria out but, the question is, has it damaged the valve? They will answer that question later today.
No matter if there is or is not surgery, this is going to be a very long process. Weeks at the least.
I will continue to check in. Keep posting the pics and haikus. I need the distraction.
In the meantime, I will be watching a lot of TV, eating a lot of hospital cafeteria food (which is very good here) and taking care of my baby girl (yeah, she is 25 but still my baby) At least she is otherwise very healthy and still young so the outlook is good.
Keep on NMS’ing!
Good luck with everything, you and your daughter are in my thoughts - I wish her the speediest recovery.
Thank you so much.
She has lots of friends and family pulling for her.
Now, if I can just keep my nerves in check.
My best hopes and wishes to both of you. Keep positive. I’m still sure it will be OK.
I’m sorry for you @sheralmyst.
I also have daughter (much more younger than yours) and I know how powerfull is our love towards our kids. I really hope she recovers very quick, and I am sure that she is very brave. You have the support of all the community, including mine. Cheer up Sheralmyst, and keep us informed!
Thanks so much everyone.
In the meantime, my daughter is still a huge Sonic the Hedgehog fan. She, like so many others, is tired of people “messing Sonic up”. So the trailer for the movie has made her fairly livid. The rendering of Sonic is so bad, even SM had to say something
Here is the trailer…prepare yourself. Jim Carrey is great but, oh, poor old poor Sonic
All the best and positive for you. Im in a similar situation, but havent mentioned it on here until now. I have a son who is 25, he has a uncureable condition, Polycystic Kidney Disease. Same thing that took his mom from us. Specialist say it is progressing faster in him. It was possible for a transplant, but now it has spread to his liver.
Anyway, stay positive.
I am so sorry.
Wish her a speediest recovery!
One of my boys spent the first 6 months of his life in the hospital. He was there to begin with due to early birth, then had to stay there because they discovered a hole in the wall between his heart chambers. They had to put in a patch, but basically it was a race between him reaching the minimum wait for the surgery and his arteries permanently stiffening due to overpressure.
I feel with you is what I’m trying to say, I guess. I wish you the best of luck, and a lot of endurance and calm.
I hope she gets well soon.
Oh Sheralmyst, you are the sweetest person on this forum! I will pray that your daughter has a full recovery and everything will be ok!
May the force be with you all.
I hope she gets better soon. I know what you must be feeling. And I can understand what your daughter may be feeling as well. Been on both ends one time. I hope all goes well.
@sheralmyst thoughts are with you and your family. Praying for a speedy recovery for the little one.
Wishing your daughter well and my thoughts are with all involved. The same for anyone else dealing with the struggles that life may throw at you. All the best
@Finnerty, I really don’t know what to say. Particularly in a public forum, where I don’t know who else is reading my reply.
To suggest that I understand what you’re feeling would be trite, insensitive, and inadequate. I don’t know what you’re feeling .
I am, however, both a father, and a grandfather. I do know what the children mean to me.
All I can offer is my sympathy.
