Synthesis - Crashed Ships Register

I, too, have been concentrating on S- and A-class ships.

By the time one has charged the portal, repaired the ship, and of course, done some exploring in the host system, the B/C-class crashed ships don’t seem as worth the effort.

As you can see above I have yet to find anything other than Bs and Cs myself, (even in wealthy systems).

However, the lower end ship would be helpful for people starting new to NMS or starting new games.

Perhaps if we state the ship’s class//slots in each post?

@temp --Do you remember the class/slots of the last two ships you posted?

[EDIT: And of course totally forgot that new players wouldn’t have the portal glyphs!]

I’m likely not the norm (my wife would certainly agree LOL). I kind of like stumbling across starships or checking out ones landing. It’s like opening a Christmas present to find a nice one.

For me, “nice” may mean looks, not capabilities.

@TravelEcho - I haven’t a clue. I was doing flybys and didn’t even land.

So you’re suggesting something like C/21/7 for the class and slots?

Yes. If possible. Thanks!

Successfully found this on PS4; same specs although my co-ords were: -62.30, -10.00.

@Polyphemus
I was able to locate the first ship in your list on PS4 prior to logging off. I look forward to hunting down the test next time I’m on.

Excellent! Thanks for the feedback.

Were you able to see the comm ball? Or did you use the co-ords/lat/long?

I did not see any comms but I’m on PS4 & player saved builds, (such as buildings & other constructs), are not viewable across different platforms. I typically play offline anyway.

I used the co’ords but I havent taken the time to pay attention to how they relate to their actual position on a globe properly or even how the co’ordinates relate to the in-game NSEW.
Maybe next time…

Simply fly along in a direction that has both co’ord ‘counters’ heading in the right numerical direction. Once one is within about 05.0 of target, then stabilise direction of travel to try & keep the correct one from altering much.
Continue flying in that direction while the other counter rolls toward the desired location.
At a slow cruising speed, once I’m within about 02.0 of a wreck it will pop up on radar (almost central) & this is usually just in front of me on the ‘render horizon’.

There is probably a better way but with my limited time in game at present this is working well enough.

The ship on your list on planet Gili XI listed as at -0.44,-127.66 was a no show, nor was there any evidence of anything. Possible coord (±)error?
Found all others so far.

Bonus find not far from the portal on this planet at
-44.13, +98,58
S class shuttle. Gave an S shield module when scrapped. :+1:

Found the S-Class Shuttle on Geli. Thanks for the Lat/Long coords.

I put a comm ball down there for PC users.

Also saw this, though it wasn’t lit up when I got there. Looks good!
Made me feel proud. :sunglasses:

Lol that’s awful  I laughed out loud when I saw that. I’m still laughing now. So glad you are back Polyphemus. Hope you’re well too. Happy New Year to you and everyone too.

haha! I’m speechless

On a more serious note we need the Longitude and Latitude Coordinates displayed in our Exocars.
That’s a fun way to find crashed ships.

What?! It isn’t? :eyes:

Another reason to keep exploring on foot. (also another ahem… oversight… on the part of HG.

It took me over an hour walking to find that ship by lat/long coords alone (I have a very hard time with those). Worth it for 3 Augment modules and an S shield module.

As discussed earlier in this thread (thank you, @DevilinPixy), planetary latitude and longitude are now displayed in your ship. I admit, this knowledge came as a surprise to me - I thought that particular readout indicated height - but apparently not any more.

Searching in your ship is a far superior method of finding crash sites. And rather more efficient than walking. :grinning: :grinning:
