Synthesis - Crashed Ships Register

I’m back and found that there are now two communication stations and both contain the same message.

Maybe it’s a problem with a matchup between a local player and a player who used a portal?

I suppose that’s possible, although it shouldn’t happen. When I’ve been to meetings in the past, everybody was able to join in together, regardless of how they got there.

Anyway, for now, it seems we have a problem. You can’t see me or my bases, and I can’t see you. That’s going to make communication difficult.

Hopefully you’ll be able to acquire another tester. Good luck.

@temp, thanks for your help. We’ve learned some things (I think) :grinning:.

Thought I’d throw my 2 cents in;

Using a Base Computer may not work unless there is a bit of structure as well.
On PS4, you cannot UPLOAD, (& therefore make visible to others), a base without a bit of structure.
Doesn’t need to be much, (a shack will do), but it needs to be more than just a Base Computer.

I’d suggest you guys use Comms with co’ords & be prepared to wait a day or so for things to sync up server-side.
Quite enjoying watching you guys experiment with sharing salvageable wrecks & am looking forward to jumping on my PS4 in the coming week & seeing if I can find your finds.

Also…I believe you can only share one base per planet, which will also mess up using BCs as markers…

Rats. I’m sure I’ve seen other players have multiple bases - but all I could see was the base computers.

That’s what gave me the idea.

AFAIK, you can only have one comm ball per player per planet, so they’re out as markers.

I don’t know about message modules - I’m experimenting with some of them.

I’ve been out of the MP arena for a bit but if I remember correctly & things haven’t changed it works like this.
1 x Comm unit /player/planet.
1 x Base (visible)/player/planet (the most recently uploaded one).

I’m thinking the Long-Lat co’ords & portal code are probably your best sharing method.
It doesnt take long to learn how to use the co’ords and after a while it is quite easy to circle in on a location…plus it does encourage a bit of exploration along the way which is kind of the NMS thing.

I saw the 2 comms but no base comps.

Were both Comms from the same player…or can’t you tell anymore?
I remember they changed slightly at some point…

One belongs to @temp, and the other is mine.

It’s time I went to bed now. But I will be back here doing more science tomorrow, and you’re all welcome to join me.

I think I will declare the Uffisko-Ruta system to be an official research area. And we can all come here and do silly stuf.

If nothing else, you’ll get lots of crashed ships. There are dozens - possibly hundreds.

Back tomorrow

Good night.

Agree! I’m a newbie, but loving the exploration. I’m in no rush…

Due to Comm Balls near a site masking other icons, it might be a good idea to place them a bit away but “in sight” of the target.

Those plus and minus Lat/Long numbers must’ve said something really dirty when converted into some language, huh?
ROFL.

I’m really not sure if the same player can upload multiple bases per planet…

Neither am I, now.

I was sure I’d seen it in the past. Not the uploaded bases, just the base computers.

I’ve been on a planet with another player, and they’ve placed a base computer. Then a while later, they’ve placed another one. I’m sure I’ve seen that done.

It doesn’t seem to work now, though.
