I’m doing something I’ve never tried before and I have some questions with regards to installing multiple star trails and getting a specific one to show. I usually don’t bother trying to max out every tech on my ship as it’s never been my play style.

However I made my first custom starship and I’m now attempting to max out it’s stats.

I read that star trails and bobble heads also help eek out certain stats and have adjacency bonus.

The rainbow starship trail isn’t the desired star trail I want for the custom ship however it seems to override the appearance of all other starship trails when I have them all installed.

Is there a way to have a different starship trails appearance be the selected trail when you have them all installed?

Is the bonus gained worth the mess or should I just get rid of them all and keep to the one whose aesthetic I want with my custom ship?

Don’t get me wrong, I love the rainbow trails and have it as default for some of my ships where the aesthetic fits, but my custom ship is themed around this forum and the trail just isn’t cutting it, I’m leaning towards golden/orange :stuck_out_tongue:

I have often hoped someone would share the actual perks of bobbleheads & star-trails.
Admittedly, I typical just choose something on aesthetics on a well set up ship, but it would be nice to know.

This is my list for the bobblehead bonuses

Apollo - Ship Weapon Damage +8
Artemis- Boost Speed ​​+5%
Atlas - Hyperdrive Distance +50 ly
Nada - Launch Cost Reduction -10%
Null - Ship Shield Strength +5%
Polo - Boost Maneuverability +5%

I’ve noticed the expedition octopus bobblehead increases my ships manouverability but havent seen anyone post anything about it online yet as its fairly new, so not sure of its exact bonus.

I believe the starship trails don’t give bonuses by themselves, but rather just add to the overall adjacency bonuses of the bobbleheads.

So I’d like to get the full starship trail bonus on this ship but with control over the choice of starship trail appearance. If it’s between choice of starship trail colour or full stats with rainbow I’ll probably just go with trail colour

Do the colour change if you swap them around? Just confirming whether if its an adjacency thing or if certain trails are simply dominant.

Oh thanks for this, very helpful.

So I have to sacrifice a percentage bonus to get the trail I want, interesting.

I will try a few different layouts and share my findings here for any future travellers curious of the trade off.
