I’m just playing around with GameMaker studio trying to see how a pixelated isometric level would look
If you have any tips for someone who wants to start game development, do share
I’d recommend going for an old school style. It’s easier to pull off since it doesn’t have to be 100% pixel perfect and there are a lot of free graphic resources (trees, houses, grass, roads, etc) online. That is assuming you want to focus more on the “making the game work” side of things. If you’re a graphic artist, well, probably the opposite applies.
Or, if you want to go for more 3D games instead, have a look at Unreal Engine 5
They also offer various 3d assets for free on their internal market place, only for use with their Engine. It might be a little bit harder to make than isometric games, but it’s really just a matter of what you like most. ^^

Wasted hours with that demo, eventually bought the game too!
I remember saving up pocket money, to buy more memory cards, to make more songs!
Or we’d make games out of it, ten minutes with the game, can’t playback any samples, just place what you can and hopefully it makes something XD
p.s is the survivor milestone still not cumulative? I was hoping by now it would be cumulative. Literally lost 60 hours of my life doing it twice, can’t bare doing it a third time

When you die in No Man’s Sky, no matter where you are, your Extreme Survival record resets to 0. That’s why it doesn’t always increase while you are on an extreme planet, because you haven’t gotten back up to your best record with no deaths. Also be aware that it doesn’t increase while in an exocraft or your ship. You must be outside, in a building, or in a cave on a planet with Extreme over the hazard bar, or has hostile sentinels.

GUess it’s another month long holiday on planet get fucked for my pc playthrough… I think I’ll HAVE to stream that session, disgruntled irish swearing til the cows come home, get changed and hit the town.

aye as said above, if you die, you gotta do it all over again. I just found a nice cave and wandered off to do other things
Book should be finished late August ish… I’ll prolly do a round of preorders before its printed
and yes, I still use Music by Jester when my Ps1 is working, fun to make crunchy beats!

i’ve been bouncing around the Hub6 area for a while trying to find a good freighter and found one but forgot the system. hehe. where in Hub6 are you located, do you have a base?

nice yeah I’ll be needing a new freighter soon. I do have a base set on HUB6-K-6C Wat VIII. Coords are LEES:0468:0081:0D6D:006C I do play on PC and on survival though, so you may just see my comm station where my base is lol. If you do play on survival, go ahead and help yourself to crops in my little farming operation.

Going to start streaming soon. I’ve only ever streamed via my PS4 in the past, and thats connected by ethernet. PC is through WIFI so not sure how well the stream will look.
I’m focusing my playthrough currently on completing atlas path and nada/polo quests etc. I currently have a fetch quest bug with Farmer, one fix involves having a freighter so I’m also building up a nice cashflow for that…
I of course, am open to suggestions while playing (I dont have a mic but ill try respond by TXT file occasionally) so please if theres something youd like me to do, shout it at me. Naming suggestions would be nice too (using no mans connect to chart my progress)
I will post the link when the stream is live, gonna do a few stress tests first, see which settings while streaming give me the smoothest performance.

Just made some “bananas foster flavoured” coffee. Baking some cinnamon-raisin scones, bought some clotted cream & jam yesterday. All set for some friends coming over. They’re visiting from New England area.

I found out today, the next doctor is a woman, (not saying a woman couldn’t do doctory type things or travel through time in a “multiversal” police box) but I think you can understand my suprise.

I ran my 4th 5k of the summer today. Have 2 more already registered and at least a half dozen more by years end. New thing I’m doing to keep from being on the PS4/PC/3DS all day.

It was a long time coming so I’m not so surprised, though some of the backlash online is insane. I mean, I get when people are uptight when other traditionally male roles recast as women because the studio is trying to pander to certain groups, which I think is wrong when it comes to artistic integrity etc etc but at least with the Doctor it makes sense within the shows Canon. I mean we’ve had a female Master and he has toyed with the idea of coming back as a woman some times.
The real concern should be, will the new show runner be up to the task? That will be what kills it for me. Theres a much bigger potential of the show going stale or running its course with this new show runner than there is with a female Doctor. Also it’s very important they not only get the right person for the companion, but that they also nail the dynamic. Too often they take the easy road and just have the male counterpart act like a bumbling bafoon to heighten the importance of the female lead, rather than have an actual well thought out dynamic that is more true to life than cartoon.
Yes I agree with all that, the beauty with Dr Who is if this new gal doesn’t work out the way they wanted they can just regenerate her back to a guy lol I think they should shoehorn a race like the gek, korvax or even the vykeen into the mix lol

Haha or the Doctor has to save earth from the deadly Sean MOO-RAY, a death ray that sends its victims in to complete hype hysteria, becoming so let down and disillusioned by everything around them they start killing themselves or sending death threats to indie developers.
Thats actually a very plausible Doctor Who scenario to some extent

Eh, I’m going on a vacation. I’m super happy ofc, but I have only this 4 days of vacation this year, and why, why does it have to be in the same time as the beginning of the “real” part of waking titan? 
I hope that I won’t miss something important here and that I can catch up in monday on whatever cool will happen this weekend!
