Singularity Expedition 10

Just checked and the message on the Echo Collective has changed

what is this place

Why are we here

Following your instructions (thank you!), I got as far as getting the brain tamed, but so far it refused to let me get to the icon to take me back to the crashed sentient ship.

One minute it says it is off planet. I zoom into space toward the icon and on the way the icon disappears and my ship stops moving. I go back to the planet, check to make sure the quest is selected in the log and look around for the crashed ship icon, but nothing there. I have logged out for the night and will try again tomorrow. At least I got further this time. Thanks again!

I want that ship because the starter ship bugs my eyes due to its bright “wings”.

I’ve had a few issues.

  • E showed, but mouse cursor disappeared, so I could not interact. It only worked from one angle.

  • Inventory showed 2 Wiring Looms, but the game counted only 1.

  • I scanned but got no directions. I had not checked the Log against the HUD text. Once I did a scan from space, I could proceed. Sigh.

  • An Atlas station didn’t show on the galactic map.

I wad hoping to at least get Phase 1 done this evening. Not happening.

I also would like to get the interceptor that was pointed to from the first camp. But it appears that I world need to fight sentinels to fix it. Big sigh.

OK. I had a similar problem on my first playthrough.

Some suggestions (no guarantees, I’m afraid).

  1. Make a beacon (2 metal plating and 30 sodium nitrate), and plant it in the starter camp. This is important, because you may not find the place again otherwise.

  2. Make a note of the planet and system names (it’s Ahei XV in the Dalnye system)

  3. Leave the planet. Ideally, leave the system. Doing this makes all sorts of internal flags re-set. If you don’t have hyperdrive fuel yet, try the teleporters in the space station or the anomaly. Just try to make sure you go somewhere you can teleport back from.

  4. Return to the starter planet, Make sure the mission is checked in your log, then operate the terminal in the starter camp again (when I did this, it sent me to a different crashed ship - but it worked).

  5. If all the above fails, re-start the expedition. You’re only at the very start, and you wouldn’t be losing much. The game doesn’t care how many attempts you make.

Good Luck!

For me the first Atlas did not show along the expedition path either. I had to change the galactic map to the Atlas path for it to show up. It was two jumps away. The next two Atlas stops were on the expedition path as expected.

A mission for the salvage operation will have been created in your log. Set it as your active mission, and the marker will show up.

It wasn’t on the route for me either, but the mission description explicitly states that you should switch to mission target in the map (didn’t notice it at first either), so it’s not exactly a bug…

I experienced both. One Atlas station showed up automatically on the expedition path, but I had to search for the others myself. Switching to mission target didn’t help - I had to switch to Atlas station, which took me way off the expedition route.

I had this happen on PS5 as well but the Atlas station icon did show, in fact, the map showed 2 Atlas icons side by side. I just manually flew there. Changing the mission log made no difference. After that, all else worked properly.

Hey I had this issue happen with the atlas stations. I followed the expedition path on galactic map thinking it was the active mission filter I was following. Had to go all the way back once I realised what was happening (sent me to rendezvous 1)

When in galactic map during expedition, there is a new filter that is always available, follow expedition path.

Sometimes when selecting a waypoint/milestone and going into galactic map it will not be on the “track active mission” tab or however it’s called by default as you’d expect, it also saying n"expedition path" makes it seem like you are following correctly.

Click on the milestone a few times and in log make sure it is the active mission. Then try galactic map.

The first atlas station is actually one small jump away from the system you start in. Hope that helps <3

I skipped all the ‘Prayer’ missions until I ran out of other things to do.
I then teleported back to near the begining & skipped across to the double marked Atlas icon.
Made for a quick bit of seed making & jumping back to chat with Nada.
I’m now hunting for Echos.
I collected one ‘collective’ crystal thingy from the Nada Prime (Artimis’ cubby) machine but now nothing seems to happen.
I’m guessing I have to wait for the community tier now…?

The Echo Collective item is just some radiant crystals attuned to Terminal Prime that reports the current state of the convergence, the ASCII code message is also changing at each tier (about to hit tier 3).

You can continue to hunt for sentient shards to gather Echo Seeds for Terminal Prime or you can always wait until community hits 100%

edit:

Tier 3 - Message Change -

we long to return. we will rebuild ourselves

For me the problem with the atlas stations was, that the map filter kept resetting. Did that happen to others as well?

When I opened the map, it had “atlas path” selected, but I couldn’t click the star because I was in the weird default map mode (what ever it’s called, I don’t understand how to use it). I always switch to “free mode” (it’s something like right-click). Now I can move the mouse and can select stars – but at the same time, it switches the filter to “expedition path”, which is not what I want. I have to press a shortcut (I think it was left arrow?) to go back to the “altas path” filter again. And then I could use the mouse to click the star I want to fly to.

It’s effectively auto-nav. It plots your next jump to the target using your current maximum range, but it will only use yellow systems to do so. If you’ve selected the right target in the mode, you can essentially just click and hold, and it will jump you to the next waypoint.

Otherwise, the behaviour you describe is normal, though I agree somewhat annoying. It’s a console thing…

Thanks for clarifying! The “click and hold” usually doesn’t work for me, because I can’t get the highlight onto the line using the mouse, it’s either to the left or right. And also I would like to see where I am going. Astronavigator’s pride and all, what if I want to pick up something from the pirate store on the way, you know? Nah, free mode forevvaaa.

Personal validation tracker, yes! That’s all that was needed to prevent people on the nexus feeling hopeless on friday XD

Did it start on zero or had it kept track of how many you’d gathered?

It was already tracking. I added 10 more on that visit bringing my total to 60.

Oh thank goodness, turning in 100 echo seeds was 10 minutes of my life I won’t get back

Should we place bets on what we think we’ve contributed before the update goes public? I’m gonna say 120… I feel like I went back with three stacks a couple of times. Whoever gets closest wins a slice of the next persons cakeday cake!
