I was wondering if you can get them and if so how? They look amazing and was hoping to figure out how to without editing the game files. I have been unable to find a concrete answer.
I think you can only blow it up? I never saw anyone capture it.
Is there any way to get it from a different source, not necessarily by pissing them off? Like finding it in the open world? Or something else?
As far as I know, they don’t exist in the wild. They only appear during scripted events.
Obviously, there’s a model for them somewhere in the game files, so they could probably be modded in as a skinned version of a regular freighter, but I haven’t seen anyone do it.
That’s sad; I would love to be able to get them sometime. I hope they add it in a future update; it would be so cool.
You could search systems for a dreadnaught type and change the colour to black.
Pretty much the same thing i reckon
Welcome to the forum @terminatorking04 .
Pirate freighters and frigates are claimable but not Sentinel, unless someone has a mod for that. But, stick around long enough and you never know…HG may make it possible one day.
@dersvr beat me to the answer, but this sounds like what you might be after. You can’t get them from Sentinel battles, but the same style ships (in different sizes/colors) will appear in some systems when the freighter rescue battle event triggers.
Thanks, I have used this forum for bambu lab too, makes it easy since it’s the same format. How do you get the pirate freighters again? I want something that is huge and looks awesome, not so much what class it is.
Yeah, I could. I wish there were a red-black option like with the ships and primary and secondary colors if you know what I mean.
This is my current ship approaching my current freighter. Jeez, how big and menacing do you want it to be?
The ship was free - salvaged from a planetside wreck. The freighter was relatively cheap - reward for beating a pirate attack.
Thesee ships and freighters are fairly easily available.
As big as possible. I don’t know if you know Rebel Galaxy, but I love the ships in the game, and I don’t like the little ships that look wimpy. I am curious about what the biggest freighter is in the game. That is a pretty sweet ship and freighter you have. My problem is a lot of the planets in my area are grasshoppers, which are boring, and I don’t have all of the glyphs yet.
I haven’t bothered with glyphs for years. I find it’s better to put effort into warp drive upgrades and crafting warp cores. Build bases in areas you like, and you can alwaays return to them. If you want to travel a really long way, have a look at some of the featured bases available from the space anomaly teleport. You can travel to them, then explore outward from there. Alternatively, you can get friends to invite you to their game, and build a base so the location is always available.
Yeah, but I like a few ships I have seen on the coordinate exchange and it would be so much easier. You can travel to the next galaxy and come back now right? The only thing that happens is all of your stuff gets hurt right?
Ah, well, yes - if you want a specific ship, then you need to travel to the system where it spawns, and you’ll need glyphs or an invitation to do that. It’s still random, though. Even if you’re in the system where the ship you want appears, it could still be days (or weeks) before you actually find one.
Personally, I find that most ships are so similar (apart from minor cosmetic changes) that I don’t worry about it much. Upgrade any class S ship to max slots, fully upgraded weapons, shields, and drives, and they all perform the same.
Pirate Freighters are the biggest ones available. Once you encounter a pirate attack, fly beneath the shield of the freighter, take out the 3 warp engines at the back, then do a couple of trench runs to take out shields. You should then be able to board and claim it.
And I forget, does this also get you some pirate frigates…trying to remember…
That would be cool. Is there a limit on the maximum size of a frigate fleet? Also, can you set up a farm for everything you need for their fuel? And how does the upgrade system work for them? Sorry for so many questions.
To get a Pirate Freighter, you first have to own a freighter already before it will join the rescue event attacking a freighter, allowing to get either. If you did not get the first rescue event yet, you will be saving a System type freighter first, and the freighter saved from the event will always be offered for free as long as you do not own one yet.
When it comes to Frigates, you can have a total of 30 in your fleet. You’d best get them C-class, with hardly any expeditions done, and relative good stats for that class. Key is sending them out on expeditions to level them up and improve their stats/traits. Each expedition is best made with a mixture of frigate types, making sure your frigates selected rate at least one star more than the expedition difficulty.
Fuel can just be crafted, and of course you could try save up the resources to craft a lot. You could eventually consider changing your fleet to use ALL Support at S-class, as they will be good to beat the expeditions while also having very low fuel cost. It is actually possible that way to never have to use fuel at all anymore. It’s an interesting tactic to try some day…
Huh, I knew about the leveling up but what about the stat that says they need like 300 x for example. (Sorry, didn’t play today so don’t know the official name) Wouldn’t it be better to just buy s class rather than wait all that time and mission costs? Sadly if I am correct there is always 50 fuel cost, I think. (Though it is very low.) I am sad because I have always done it one star over and it still got damaged and had to recal. Though, I have never had that happen to a five-star expedition crew.
I would be looking for sentinal ships specifically, and so I would just use a dissonance resonator or whatever.
