I’ve seen dozens by now… In fact, due to the limited amount of pieces they are composed of, I’d say I’ve already seen all they can offer… They come in yellow, golden, orange, blue, red, white, grays… And the tentacle green one. Indeed not seen any pod-exotic in that colour… Nor a tentacled one without purple tips.
Just got this… 17 slots and haven’t a clue how to place the tec. As I had more slots in my last ship and followed advice for that one but this…how to manage with only 17 !? Or dosen’t it matter as I am playing in creative?
You might want to leave her mostly waiting in your freighter’s port, for those times you just need to impress some Gek with your flashy hull…
Nice name! (And ship - a personal favourite)
If you’re in creative, do you meet any bad guys?
Otherwise making sure you have all the warp and hyper drive upgrades should be prioritized, unless you like traveling slowly : )
I get home tomorrow and can uploaf my configuration then : )
Btw, if you’re still in the system, you could go to another trade port and wait for the next exotic to arrive - chances are you get more slots then…
Just a noob-proof question, since I haven’t found one “per se”, in-game, yet…
They are not piloted by forth/Explorer race-guys, are they?
Good question!
I haven’t seen a single ship, exotic or not, piloted by the fourth race. I’m sure its possible, though!
Umm can’t remember who the seller was now…I was in such a daze seeing one as I have been vivid green with eny of others with their super duper ships… D***… wish I had noticed that… but no it wasn’t one of the new fragil looking race
I have been shot at when suddenly finding myself in a battle… and did spin about…can’t shoot them though even though I tried to and saw my tracer lines going towards the fighter ships which did plague me till I landed on a planet…
I have seen (and acquired) two.
One was found at a Trading Post, actually saw the shadow of it coming in and knew it was an exotic!
The other one landed in my freighter while I was tending some crops. Was up there for a while, came back down, and there she was, just waiting for me.
There was no plot or story point that linked to the ships arrival. I will say they are exceedingly rare, and will own to being rather lucky.
Thanks for the config offer that would be brill
I’ve never seen a 4th race piloting a ship. (I don’t think they can, aren’t they dead?)
Probably not, going off the lore, all travellers are on seperate dimensions. What we see in the game are holograms of their signals, usually transmitting from a nearby grave. Wouldnt make sense to see one flying a physical ship. Unless it’s on autopilot and it’s just projecting its image into the cockpit.
But is it OK to be hanging on bars, or roaming the galaxy on-board freighters…? hmm… Those are some weird glitchin’ ghosts…
Atlas Rises synops did say glitches have started to appear across the universe Be they glowing orbs or holograms getting sauced at a space station bar
To make the most out of the placement, I recommend putting the “pulse drive” in place of the phase beam upgrades, since that’s the only one you can get max synergy on. (T shape would probably be best (going where no the phase beam + coolant and warp +1 are). Then the warp+1 should go where phase impact tau is (this gets the +3 reactor in the middle for max bonus). The weapons could go below the launch thruster (put the +3 ones where your +3 coolant is now).
Also I recommend going for either phase beam OR photon cannon. The shields can go in the tech slots (again with the +3 in the middle of the other two).
One alternative is, if you really like to make this a fighter, to use the general inventory entirely for weapons, so you can get max synergy bonuses. The real question is though, how many cargo slots do you want to keep for looting ships and/or storing stuff?
Thank you this is really helpful… now to do it!
I have photon cannon upgrades in my five technology slots, and when I get Pulse Jet Theta I’ll put it where Sigma is currently, but otherwise this is as good as I manage.
On your part, you aren’t as lucky with the slot layout, but maybe it’s enough for some inspiration.
Can one own more than one ship at a time?
Once you get a freighter, you can own up to 6 ships I believe.
Pro-tip: when you talk to ship captains while in your freighter, you get the option in the “make an offer on their ship” dialog to “add the ship”, rather then trade your current ship.
Wow…that’s fab wish I’d known I would have kept several, one a lovely 48 hauler. I have a freighter so should have done that…oh well, as I am in creative, the spoilt boys club… I’ll look out for another, thanks for the info… wonder if all this learning will help against any alzheimer’s …which seems to be the next black death plague!
Oh my husband has just said that alzheimer’s is the biggest killer in the UK! Gosh…
