Well, now you can rightfully state that freedom and rights are being abused. This is a clear violation of freedom. I will still refrain from protesting, :innocent:

Perhaps if law enforcement salaries and training are too low you get what you pay for? This may be related to poor emotional response by law enforcement. Or, of course, it may be racism, which is not limited to the US south.

UPDATE …

Photos of recent protests reminded me of a phrase from a Bruce Willis movie …

ā€œI see dead people!ā€ [no masks in a crowded group]

Let’s hope this is accurate good news

It would be nice, but I’m skeptical. Especially so because I just read this week an article (can’t recall where) on DNA sequencing and structure of COVID-19 – its mutations are not weakening at all, though it’s also not getting more lethal. Too much information is being published before good peer review and verified duplication of research results.

What will weaken the effect of the virus is bringing the infection rate down to 1:1 (one infected person is infecting, on average, just one other). At that point, confirmed cases start subsiding in the population. We are nowhere near that yet. Britain has found out that the so-called ā€œherd immunityā€ on this virus seems not to be very effective.

Shelter in place, wear PPE when you must venture out for any reason, and put a priority on maintaining cleaned hands (clean mind … well, that’s a spiritual thing, now isn’t it.) .

UPDATE: COVID-19 may be a vascular disease
[ā€œMayā€ because the source is not a scientific reporting mag or journal].

Vascular…there are reports here of adults with inflamed hearts…so it is possible.
Sadly, the riots are spreading faster than the virus, or at the same rate…especially if rioters are carrying it with them. We have been placed under a curfew. Many small towns are expecting riots tonight. When I went in for groceries yesterday, I saw many cars from Michigan headed south…I am a bit worried. People are already suffering enough.
Peace and love everyone. Stay safe!

I couldn’t have told by the contents that this wasn’t scientific reporting. Non-sensational, factual, clearly lays out evidence and multiple possible interpretations and citing several studies. Seems to me whoever wrote it knew better how to do scientific journalism than most…

I suspect this thread may evolve into larger issues as one issue plays into another. For me personally, July will be a make or break month. Lives will change. Situations will flip. Hang onto your butts! Hugs to all!

I am so very fortunate to be able to remain at home and telework. Eventually, my doctor will want me to have my physical or at least blood tests before renewing prescriptions. That may be when I first venture out for more than grocery or restaurant no-contact pickups.

I have 3 (maybe 4) high-risk factors so I’m planning to stay at home for a long time – likely into 2021. It’s time to suck it up and cope with reality vs. go nuts and rush out to be ā€œnormalā€ again.

CNN: Best way to reduce coronavirus transmission is by wearing a face mask, study finds.

Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson said on Friday that the state reported 731 new coronavirus cases since Thursday, the largest daily jump since the outbreak began.
However, Hutchinson said that he wouldn’t mandate residents wear a face mask when venturing out in public because it wouldn’t be enforceable and ā€œit’s just not Arkansas"… :mask:

My state of Arizona has most areas on wearing them wherever you are. Indoor and outdoor. My town of Maricopa wasn’t on either list of mandatory /not mandatory so I’ll take it wherever I go.
