The cleaned up landscape picture (nice work by the way
) does reveal the ‘one inside’ as mentioned in the line about they see the tower but not the one inside
It is there. You can see the edge of the sculpture on the bottom right of the photo. Here is nearly exactly where the photographer was standing. You can see the wood pile on the Google satellite view.
Has anyone explored the connection of the 2005 post ( QUOTE – project-skyscraper ) with the Sunday Morning poem by Wallace Stevens(page also has an image of him and has the header “Sunday Morning”).
Sunday Morning for reference: Sunday Morning | The Poetry Foundation
In my case, only so far as to be certain the verse quoted does not come from Stevens’ poem “Sunday Morning”.
As for understanding the real “Sunday Morning” poem - Stevens was a modernist poet - his work was charcterised by impressionistic images and stream-of-consciousness - rather like T S Eliot or James Joyce.
The trouble with that stuff is that whilst it had inner meaning to the poet, many of the connections only existed in his own head - which makes it pretty impenetrable to others.
Yeah my thoughts are along the same lines, just flavour text
I agree.
I found this image while trawling through images about the park.
You can see the little sign on a stake from this reverse angle.
Wikimedia has some information - the poor Countess had visibly deteriorated in the last two years:
Stevens suggests that we live in the tension between the shapes we take as the world acts upon us and the ideas of order that our imagination imposes upon the world. The world influences us in our most normal activities: “The dress of a woman of Lhassa, / In its place, / Is an invisible element of that place / Made visible.”[69] As Stevens says in his essay “Imagination as Value”, “The truth seems to be that we live in concepts of the imagination before the reason has established them.”[70]
This may say a lot about why this poet was chosen. And this thread is proof of the thought
It may. however, be that Stevens was chosen because he was practically obsessed with the colour blue.
It crops up in dozens of his poems.
So whilst the quoted verse is not from Stevens, the opening line “Blue birds are invisible on the blue sky” would fit his style perfectly.
And he talked a lot about wings too. I found the work from he won pullitzer, and start a read.

Dame Hodierne or Le Forgeron? There are videos on Gmaps.
PS : I still don’t think it’s the right place.
Not sure if anyone pointed this out already, but the numbers in each sleep-mode-XXXXX page seem to be an excel serial number for that date, for example sleep-mode-46105 was published on 24th March 2026, which has an excel serial date number of 46105. Looks like @the_architect is using two timekeeping systems?
Born and raised in Waterford Ireland, his parents, brothers and sisters still lives here. Hes the black sheep as a game designer, theyre all doctors and scientists
all seans kids are british though and born in guildford ![]()
He moved to england after graduating in cork to pursue work with a computer science degree and while working making software for clients like banks etc, he realised none of his colleagues played games and looked down on them, then he made a career switch to games and got a job at Criterion games.
Theres an IGN interview where he goes through his entire life that you might get a kick out of @Clemm and theres also another Gamespot interview from 2014 with Danny, that everyone seems to have missed, because he specifically states 2 years before release, there will be no traditional multiplayer at launch but they want to add it eventually and support the game with updates.
ignore all this, I found it eventually
(Having trouble finding this other one, i only watched it again recently about a year ago, worried its lost media now. But its candid, starts with Danny rushing through e3 to catch them at their hotel before they catch their flights, they even take the elevator up to the hotel room together and make funny small talk, if anyone finds it please let me know <3 )
Oddly enough, gemini remembers it, but is having trouble actually finding the video too, but they described it perfectly, even linked me to the wrong video when I asked for a link
The video you are looking for is titled “Unveiling No Man’s Sky” (part of The Point series), which Danny O’Dwyer produced for GameSpot back in July 2014, shortly after the game blew everyone away at E3.
The specific context of that chaotic, candid interview is legendary among fans of the game’s development history:
- The Setup: Hello Games was a tiny team at the time, completely overwhelmed by the explosive hype from E3 2014. They were completely booked and literally packing up their gear at their hotel to catch a flight back to the UK.
- The Chase: Danny and his camera team literally rushed to their hotel room at the eleventh hour. Sean Murray and the crew agreed to let Danny mic them up for a completely raw, unedited, conversational interview right there in the hotel room while they were simultaneously folding clothes and packing suitcases.
- The Vibe: Because of the rushed nature, it bypassed the usual sterile “PR press junket” feel. It gave a highly authentic look at how terrified and excited Sean Murray was about the astronomical expectations suddenly placed on his small studio.
If you want to look it up on YouTube or GameSpot’s archives, search for “The Point - Unveiling No Man’s Sky” or “How Hello Games Built No Man’s Sky.” It remains one of the best pre-release snapshots of the game ever recorded.
(nevermind, this is still missing the rest of the interview. Theres a longer uncut version, please help me ![]()
Its 16° here today. @the_architect is good at this arg stuff, even controlling the weather ![]()
They are, aren’t they?
In that respect, I don’t really care whether it’s officially Hello Games sponsored or not. As long as it’s well done, I will go along with it.
Ditto, this is just fun either way, a good thing to get us giddy for 10 years of this wonderful game regardless.
If its fan made, every french player is now, maybe, possibly, officially suspect. Get NMSFrance in here, hold them for questioning and start taking prints. Failing that, fall back on the other possibility we threw around. Every. French. Canadian.

I swear by Eiffel’s tower, even greater, by Sean’s beard, i’m not involved !
When I was a kid, Orientalism was very popular in Hollywood - I grew up on movies like Sinbad, Thief of Baghdad, Aladdin, and Ali Baba.
My childhood was heavily infuenced by archetypal brown-stained actors with hooked noses saying things like “By the beard of the Prophet!”, “By my ancestor’s beards!” or “By the beard of my Father!”
“By Sean’s beard” still makes me laugh.
Heyy uhhh did the site footer change or am I misremembering what it said before? It currently reads “System Filtering Platform activated” but I’m pretty sure yesterday it read “Sky is not the limit” when I was looking at it.
It always says this on the main page, and some of the sec logs will have the “sky is not the limit” footer. (as @sheralmyst pointed out below, the sleep-mode sec logs contain the sky is not the limit footer. It’s possible this was on the main page at one point too, but we only discovered the site a good while AFTER sleep-mode ended)
What’s interesting about the System Filtering footer on the landing page is, no matter how much you zoom scale your browser (which changes the shape of the red dots/connecting lines “amoeba”) is you will always have to scroll down to see the System Filtering footer.
